A win tonight would ensure that Argyle would move into the last 32 teams left in this competition.

I would expect Callum Burton to start in goal....he played in the two previous matches.

And as notDistant has revealed to us through the Herald write-up...it is ideal to give Dan Scarr a game to keep him match fit for when he can play again in the league...possibly the Exeter game.

Also ideal for Conor Grant to get his first start of the season....and the possibility of match time for Will Jenkins-Davis, Oscar Halls and Brandon Pursall....other than that Schumacher will want to pick a strong team so that we can continue in this competition.

Oh dear. Another game to come in this **** competition then. I just saw something on pasoti that said there were more Argyle fans at Saturdays game v MK Dons than attended this one at Home Park tonight. I will bet it is the same at all of these matches.

If Argyle got to Wembley for the final in this competition I still wouldn't go. If just isn't worth getting possible injuries in for the returns.

The round of the last 32.

    Plymouth Argyle...v...Charlton.

Awkward game this.....although Schumacher wants to progress in this competition...he has to deal with a long injury list....plus players carrying knocks from Saturday.

It gives him a chance to play Mickel Miller for some more match time....but how much... that is the poser....mustn't hinder is recovery by playing him too long.

More playing time obviously for junior members of the squad......bearing in mind that there will be no more fixtures until Saturday week.....eleven days were he intends to give players some family time before they play again.

So what will Schumacher do....he would love to beat Charlton after that 5-1 drubbing in August......but he needs to rest his key players for the league battles ahead.

He's said we'll take this competition seriously: it's a good opportunity for him to give game time to those who haven't been getting much, especially the youngsters. But I'm sure anyone with a niggle or who's done 90 minutes in each of the last 2 or 3 games will start on the bench.

The win over Charlton has eased the pain of the bragging rights in my family a little for me.....but of course the mickey mouse cup doesn't count for my son and grandson so nothings changed for them.....although I think if they had won they might of mentioned it.
