What a complete hovel that place is. it’s like going to a 70’s/80’s ground. Going in all the fans were crushed into a couple of turnstyles kids getting proper squashed and looking distressed. All this under the watchful eye of coppers and strwards. inside it was a run down **** hole. bogs we’re the worst I’ve ever seen, small and cramped. Lines of sniff being done in front of stewards and loads smoking weed. Kids having to walk through that. Not just cos of covid but our fans were treat like ****ing animals by Leeds United with no regard for our welfare. decent fans off the pitch but as a club they can go rot in hell. Their ground is Championship level at best and I think the PL should insist on minimum standards. The place is falling apart big time it really is. The Rotherham or Huddersfield stadiums are 10x better than this cesspit. Rant over but what a horrid experience. Especially the bogs.
Do you ever actually watch the football or just spend all your time in the bogs? Agree though about Elland Road - I have driven past it numerous times since the 80's either to get back to my parents house in York, see my daughter at University and now visit my son there. It hasn't changed at all in that time and looks like a converted warehouse on a trading estate.
mate I was in there 20 mins and the poss took 39 secs. No one could move. ****ing horrible place. Agree on the trading estate comment too. There’s loads Al land there to really redevelop it well.
Interesting, looks like the **** has hit the fan about this - nufc.com has an article about the **** that happened at the turnstyles and the fan group are getting involved. Dissappointing that the team has got back on form but the stadium and staff are so ****ing backward.
You seen this from the Sun? https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/1716...hugs-surge-violence-exclusive-stadium-tested/ THEY TOOT… THEY SCORE Football thugs high on cocaine fuelling terrifying surge in violence – with the drug found at every stadium we tested Apparently they were going to test the bogs at our place but decided that nobody was brave enough to snort a line off them.
Sounds like they use it as a pick-me-up at the match after getting pissed all day. A free bag used to be handed out with the free programme in the Platinum Club, when Rafa was in charge, to try and keep you awake while the match was on.
It's generally classed as a middle class drug, ie all lawyers, bankers etc do coke. They don't do weed, pills etc.
A good 20 years I'd say... It's still got that in a high flyer image though. In reality there's nothing good about it.
1999 I took over as manager of one of Whitbread's high street bars in Surrey, very posh area but most of the trouble came from a group of pikeys and Chelsea thugs all high as kites on coke most of the time, I doubt there is a public toilet anywhere now that you can go and not find traces of it, there was a point where we used to spray all the surfaces in the toilets with WD40 but the police warned us against it in case it hurt the junkies.
