Hi Pat, I for one had no idea of your condition. How long have you had to endure this. Speedy recovery and keep us in the loop.
Pat sorry to hear that mate. I had bowel cancer and whilst going through the daily radiotherapy I had to endure for 5 weeks, I was told that I may end up losing control of my bladder due to the radio, so they recommended that if it started to go on-line and get some of these. Easier to do than going into a chemist mate https://www.nrshealthcare.co.uk/hea...m1wIVx7ftCh1g5gGREAQYAyABEgKU_vD_BwE#228=1700
Pat I understand you can buy mens incontinence pads and pants from Asda, you should be able to get the pads on the NHS ( because they wont be cheap). My wife has bladder problems and gets the female pads. good luck.
You need to ensure that the doctors keep it under control with persistent calls and emails. Must keep on top of it buddy
I live in fear of it (my dad had it in an aggressive form) No idea on the question but assume you go for incontinence pants. There’s a brand called Tena that advertise but no idea tbh Sorry can’t help. Good luck though.
Good luck Pat - I agree will Ell keep on top of it. I know a couple of guys here who have been through it and are fine now, keep having to have check ups but no on-going problems
Pat, sorry to hear this fella. This seems to give you a list of the available options: https://www.bladderandbowel.org/bladder/bladder-incontinence-products/male-incontinence-products/
Sorry to hear your news, Pat. I can offer nothing other than sympathy, I'm afraid. Surely your consultant can arrange for this advice, and provide a prescription (if that's the cheaper option)? If we're of a similar age group (I'm 59), then sadly we're all facing nasty situations, health-wise. Good to put it out there & not bottle it up. The wife's favourite uncle survived the same cancer is you, but the silly bugger didn't let on about trouble with his water works (not sure if directly related). He didn't like to mention to anyone that he hadn't been for a pee for 2 weeks. Sadly, by the time this came out, it was too late. Dead within a week. So glad you feel able to share. That very attitude may well save your life at some point. Over the weekend, I was reminded of my mortality when I heard that my old school mate had died, and another had lost his son. News like this is becoming all too frequent.
All the best Pat. I hope someone has been able to help. There is some good news, if shaks buys some of these he could lose even less drinking time.
An element of flippancy here, Pat, but perhaps practical if you're going to a match ... https://www.stadiumpal.com
Best of luck Pat, sorry to hear of the problems you’re having. Wife of a mate of mine Specialised in advising women after childbirth on how to strengthen various muscles which she says is a colossal help. It didn’t exist years back when my kids were born. My point I suppose, is if these exercises exist for women, I’m sure similar exists for men with your problem. I can ask her if you wish
a massive thank you for all suggestions and advice i just knew there were some wise gentlemen on here greatly appreciated.
Yep you’re right eire... similar pelvic floor exercises for men I think. Never quite worked out what a pelvic floor was... sounds like an Elvis dance move.
Pat, just to wish you a speedy recovery. This can be beaten, have recently had a beer with two of my closest friends that have recovered from this. Looking forward to bitching about how **** we are for many a year to come
