Stick that in your pipe and smoke it you cheating Aussie bastards. The fact that Stokes was plumb LBW but they had wasted their reviews makes it all the sweeter!
Lots already been said but this is great https://www.theguardian.com/sport/b...botham-ashes-andy-bull?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
After his heroics in the 3rd Ashes test and the World Cup 6 weeks ago, what odds on Ben Stokes being sports personality of the year in December? I guess much will depend on how the two remaining tests in the series go, but he's done enough for me already
After the euphoria of a fantastic game,a point worth thinking about. The umpiring in the series has been very poor. Are they relying too much on DRS? The decision to give Stokes not out LBW was a really poor call.Village green standard. Just glad Aussie wasted their last referral on a ball that pitched 4ins outside leg stump, but for that we would be talking about "what nearly was"
I wonder what the odds were for an England victory after Australia's 2nd innings? Anything like the 500 /1. in 1981
Anderson ruled out of the rest of the Ashes series with a recurrence of his calf injury. Sadly, I fear that may be the end of a glittering test career
I'm a bit surprised at the faith shown in Roy and Buttler again. Both on really poor runs and probably only saved by Stokes' heroics last time out. Our batting has been consistently weak. As a test team we only have Root with an average above 40. A bit different to the days of Cook, Trott, Bell, Prior , KP etc. Not all dashers but all capable of putting in a match winning or saving performance. This current lot fold time in and time out and still the selectors keep the faith. Hopefully the batting will click in Manchester and give the bowlers something to work with. Really looking forward to Archer v Smith part 2.
