    Southgate is like a well-meaning PE teacher who picks kids because their gran just died, or their mum and dad divorced. Joe Hart does not deserve a place in the squad, never mind being 1st pick. Oxlade-Chamberpot just runs around a lot, looking like he's about to burst into tears. Someone just paid a hundred billion quid for Kyle Walker?! WTF? Phil ****ing Jones!?!? He's like Frank Spencer, never far from a calamity. Would anyone on here seriously pick Cahill ahead of Maguire or Keane? They try to portray Alli as a playmaker when he's not as good as Gazza - and nowhere near being a Pirlo. Kane has no pace. Sterling is a puff. I can't remember who else was playing. God give me strength!

    I watched the first 60 mins.
    It did get better but it's a long way off what's needed at a Tournament.
    As usual we will be making up the numbers and adding to the TV revenue for FIFA.
    I certainly won't be using any days off work like I used to to watch them.
    Shame really.

    Did I hear the commentator say England are the best supported home side in the world, during the qualification games? Followed by the DR Congo...or was I dreaming? If true, says a lot about the state of international football.

    I didn't understand that comment at all, the DR Congo only have a 30k ground, they can't possibly be one of the best supported.

    It was a good second half performance and a way better watch than the Malta game, though quite a few players had an off-night.

    even though we won, woeful performance full of errors

    the Ox - shocking crosses and shots, and we moan at Turdo
    Deli Ali Baba - poor and piss poor misplaced aggressive attitude
    Henderson - too slow in build up
    Livermore- bet he can't wait to show his cap off and recount his glorious contribution in years to come
    Jones - even made Junior look like a footballer

    Maguire - do people really think he would have made a difference - the Slovacs were superb at the quick passing game, they would have been round 'arry in the blink of an eye and he would have been stranded like a beached oil tanker

    what were the tactics - shocking decision making, shooting at goal when there was a better placed pass - dreadful stuff

    at the end of the day, the truth is we don't have the Bex, Lamps, Stevie Gs etc any more. we're bang on average to below average and until the next generation come through were going stay that way - in some ways feel sorry for Southgate as there really isn't much to choose from
