Yeah he does. He looks like a really focused and confident guy. I like him. You could see players buying into him.
Even my team being relegated would not make me feel as low as I would be supporting 1 of these 12 teams at the moment.
Can you imagine the normal scene at Man unt with the away end singing you dirty greedy bastards and then picture it with 75,000 in there singing it because I reckon all the fans of those six teams will want rid of there owners now.
When you look at recent punishments handed out to Leeds, Birmingham, Luton, Wigan, based on the ‘integrity of the league’, then they have to be punished. They were prepared to destroy the league, or at the very least take a competitive financial advantage within it that could never be competed with. There has to be repercussions.
Copied this from a website reporting on biased bbc news content. Football : An existing Super League was about to make announcement on Monday .. that it was going to expand and include a few more teams That super league already earns £3bn/year and its administrators keep £500m for themselves for admin costs. It’s called the Champions League and the administrators are called UEFA The big 6 deliberately made their new SuperLeague announcement on Sunday to firstly scupper UEFA’s own plan, which would have diluted the earnings of the big 6. I like the way the libmob and media are patting people on the head and saying “well done you little people, you stood up to the big guys Yo People Power” …FFS the UEFA fat cats are still there
Personally I think this was leaked deliberately to test the waters. I fully expect another watered down version (what they originally intended to do) of a super league or extended CL format and the fans think they have a victory. These greedy b*stards normally get their way somehow.
Some of the players have to be congratulated for coming out and condemning it BUT the players are part of the problem with their greedy extortionate wage demands. Some of the contracts these players are on are obscene and the money must come from somewhere. Once wages started rising the way they did this was always on the cards. This super league will happen it’s the only way clubs can afford to pay Donkeys like David Luiz 100 + grand a week.
Chicken and egg situation. What came first? The clubs making the money or players demanding the money?
Surely diluting the earnings of the 'Big 6' is a good thing? And while it's true that UEFA are no saints, the crucial thing in all of this is that the Champion's League is not (currently) a closed competition (although this is perhaps just a technicality).
Exactly. The clubs did it, they started inflating wages to jump the queue. You can’t blame players for taking it, then players thereafter valuing there worth against it. Was the owners who signed it off, ****ed it, and are now trying to drag that money back. The PL is on as it’s massive income, but the Italian and Spanish, folk don’t wanna watch it and they’ve put their fingers in their ears and mismanaged the clubs, and this was a get out of jail free card. You know, and this is fact, when Sky let La Liga go it was because they asked for parity with the PL, despite their worldwide audience being around 10% of the PL. ****ing parity. Sky told them to **** up and they ended up getting half the money off Eleven, who almost went bust as nobody bought it, so they had to settle for even less when Premier Sports bailed them out. Real and Barca continued spending as normal. They ****ed themselves.
As I understand it, the Spanish clubs negotiate individual TV deals with Spanish TV. So Real and Barca demand massive deals because they're most popular, get richer, and that all increases exponentially making the league less competitive and therefore less popular. So short sighted.
Worse still, I hope UEFA don't change the format to keep them sweet. If they do, I hope fans all over Europe rise up again and protest against this pandering of the 'big clubs'. Football is not about the big clubs, it's a sport that brings enjoyment to billions of people across the world.
It's a major financial irregularity, that could have had damaging consequences for the whole of the football pyramid. As Sombrero has pointed out, Rangers got demoted for much less than this. Give the owners of these six clubs the choice - Sell up and get out of football or start life in League Two. What happened to Rangers wasn't fair on the fans, but if it's a straight choice between the two options, the fans of the six clubs will let those owners know in no uncertain terms, which choice to make..
