Hull City will no doubt be on the lookout for an extra body up front during the January transfer window and Papiss Cisse is the latest name to be linked. The striker enjoyed a good start to life in the Premier League with former club Newcastle United, initially scoring 13 goals in just 14 league appearances during the back end of the 2011/12 season. But goals never followed in quite the same way for the Senegal international, who joined Shandong Luneng this summer in the Chinese League. Cisse is still scoring goals in the competition, five in 13 matches including this bizarre one above, and has a price tag believed to be in the region of £3 million. But according to the BBC's football gossip it's understood the Tigers are unwilling to match his valuation. We'll just have to wait and see on this one. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/8203...9949787-detail/story.html#dP3y4fFUhPhjf2uH.99
You do realise cisse has played in this league before, yes? You say proven goalscorer while ignoring the majority of his time here.. Also ibra has been on the verge of being dropped a number of times. He's on his last legs and will retire at seasons end.
I was only pulling your leg. Ibra's extending his contract at Man United by another year. We're not looking at spending any significant cash in January, we won't get a better striker than Cisse.
Wouldn't cisse be going to the ACON anyway? Silly to bring in if we'll need another one as well to replace him and mbokani.
They've confirmed they're exercising the extension, they're even thinking of extending it to 2019 (though giving a player on £260k a week an extension until he's 37 seems a bit mental).
His injury problems were one reason why he struggled to get back into the Newcastle team. I'm not dissing Cisse, he's a decent player and would improve our squad. He's also a risk - but that is the pool that the Allams have us fishing in, so fair enough.
True but got a runners up medal in 2000 for the Superettan (tier 2) league. Which I'm sure has pride of place in his trophy cabinet....he was relegated in his first season with Malmö FF
