For doing what I said ?? Punishment should be immediate transfer to the Spurs squad until end of career, on wages of 5K/week.
So what's the betting: hamstring trouble for every Croatia match played at home, or an imminent retirement from international duty?
Yesterday, one of the self-confessed greatest minds in football was waiting to hear from Notts County in relation to their managerial vacancy. Today, he has heard that they've appointed a Cambridge University graduate and former investment banker, the club say he is "a football nut who presented an outstanding, highly researched and robust plan to take Grimsby Town forward". Poor old Sol, I wonder how his outstanding, highly researched and robust plan to take Grimsby Town forward went down? Or did he just ask what the money was like?
The guy Grimsby have appointed has an interesting background. He was charged of having sex with a 15 year old and has experience of working as a youth coach at Crewe Alexandra, which these days is not a great link to have. Ok, he was cleared of the under age sex allegation, but I wouldn't have touched him with a barge pole.
Hmmmm. That ain't a great CV to my mind, either. Sol's appeal to County would seem almost as unlikely. Having signed a 5 year deal with them in August 2009, he walked out of the club in September 2009. Not at half time on this occasion.
I keep wondering what Alan Pardew says to these chairmen/owners when he applies for a job to take their clubs down?
Should have given him 2 awards as one of the teams Brighton absolutely played off the park was the goons.
I suspect that the fact one of the teams was the Goons was a mark down for the award (so an even better achievement) .
Surprisingly I don't see any salty Mousers creating in the responses to that one. Goal of the Month, on the other hand...
I've always felt that he's done a good job as a manager and been treated harshly, so it's good to see him getting recognition. Brighton really seem like a club on the up after a lot of lean years, so he could really build something there. Years of homelessness and struggle in the lower leagues have been replaced by a nice new stadium and the Premier League. They must be loving it at the moment.
