Wanyama was two kilometres offside and struck the ball with his elbow. The official behind the goal also shifted the goalposts slightly so that it would go in. How the ref missed all of this I'll never know. Flukey goal.
I wonder if Brighton is our favourite second team.I always look for their result.......and Fort William's up there in Scotland( because they get beaten up in nearly every game and I yell when (when!) they actually win a game.)
Ryan Mason has just been on TalkSport for half an hour being interviewed by Andy Goldstein, who is a total knob. One of the issues raised was how Ryan felt towards Gary Cahill. The structure of the approach was definitely to set up..."It was a total accident. I have no hard feelings towards him." That didn't happen. Politely but very firmly, he indicated that it wasn't interested in answering to that in a radio interview and to my ear, he was well pissed off at something.Whether it was Goldstein raising it or Cahill was impossible to tell but he wasn't having it. He came over extremely well as a really well spoken, nice guy with a steely centre but very intelligent and humorous. He was asked if he could see Harry staying long term and said "Yes" as he wants to break English goalscoring records in the PL and internationally and wouldn't be so interested in money and playing abroad. When asked about MP and how important he is to Spurs, he said "He is the project." The future's his to pick. In half an hour he made a very strong impact. He'll do well at whatever he chooses.
I loved how he said he wanted to leave spurs to play football but it was his decision as the club wanted him to stay but that leaving made him feel closer to the club. Genuinely hope he gets a coaching role at Spurs as he will have a lot to offer. Me and my girls were at the Forest match where he scored s screamer and it remains one of the great goals I have seen live!
Michael Carrick to retire at the end of this season. Hugely under appreciated, he never made a tackle because he never needed to.
Ephialtes of Trachis is now kvetching that he was interviewed for the Grimsby job, only to be turned down due to a lack of experience. Has it occurred to him at any point that, rather than sit on his ever-growing backside and whinge that nobody wants him to manage their team, maybe he could at least take up a coaching position so his CV has something on it other than selling out the Spartans at Thermopylae in 480 BC?
Nooooo! He's only here for the beer. He's really after the Leeds job too....he knows they take anyone.....
Ryan Mason talking more about Spurs: http://www.skysports.com/football/n...no-changed-my-outlook-on-life-says-ryan-mason "Probably the biggest thing that I can say about him is that he didn't just improve me as a player, he improved me as a human being." Massive endorsement of Pochettino.
From what I read earlier in the week, he made an enormous effort to get there. Spent about 30 plus hours in flights. Probably made more effort to play this week than Ryan Giggs did in his entire International career.
"All three were offsiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide" - Saltypool fans realising that's one less bit of history they can bang on about for decades of irrelevance to come
How many days rest did he get after flying for 30 hours? I've done that 2 or 3 times in my life, and one is totally fekked for at least 60 hours afterwards.
