Rangers beat Hamilton 5-0 to go top in Scotland. Jermain Defoe scored a hat-trick, while Paul Gascoigne was their half-time guest.
Even at 37 he's still one of the best finishers this country has. Been saying it pretty much since he left and I'll still say it, he's welcome back any time if he fancies helping Harry out up front.
Ruben Lameiras has talked about his time at the club to Mais Football He also did this in Famalicao's 2-1 win over Sporting a few weeks ago
The Standard's run an excerpt from Clive Allen's book - and let's just say David Bentley comes across as a total bell end https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...gue-place-but-bentley-got-party-a4263201.html
In the latest excerpt from Clive Allen's book, he reveals that Arsene Wenger was a sore loser (hardly a revelation, I know...) and that Wenger really should be sending Carlo Cudicini a Christmas card every year for saving him from Allen throwing something a bit harder than a slice of pizza at him https://metro.co.uk/2019/10/17/former-tottenham-coach-clive-allen-recalls-almost-punching-arsene-wenger-carlo-cudicini-stepped-10934607
Paul Gascoigne has been found not guilty: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-50068077 Silly ****er.
It's obvious that a North East jury were never going to convict him. Anyone else would be entitled to consider themselves extremely fortunate to be acquitted in these circumstances.
I'm not sure which verdict would've been best for him, to be honest. He's clearly struggling, but I have no idea what the answer is, as it seems impossible to help him.
He's the George Best of his generation in more ways than one. And like Best, he's probably beyond salvation unfortunately.
It's hard to tell how the jury saw the whole thing without having been present in court. They may have felt that the charges were excessive or unwarranted, especially with assault by beating seemingly tacked on for no apparent reason. The case might've been handled better with a plea to lesser charges.
