    I just wonder....

Has Palmer freed himself so he can join the di Resta- Kubica Williams shootout?

I can't see it myself. What would Williams see in him over a 2 day test that they wouldn't already know from his race/quali performances? The only way he's in the running for Williams is if Kubica and Di Resta both fail to impress, and they still want to ditch Massa.

Interesting thought with the Toro Rosso swap around. Gasly has come into Kvyat's car for two races. With Kvyat returning, does Kvyat get his original car back, or go into Sainz's? Sainz has used less parts than Kvyat so far this season, so it's an advantage to whoever gets that car for the rest of the season.

I assume the Daily Mail will go for something along the lines of Foreigner takes hard working British man's job.

Isn't 7 mil in the same ballpark as he was meant to be paying for the whole season? To get all of that back is good business for the Palmer's given Jolyon's false representation as a Racing Driver!

Renault must think they can make that up in prize money by trying to finish up higher in the WCC, otherwise why the hell would they?

Seems daft just for four races, but at least it gives Sainz more time with the car and the team for next year.

Still..........£7 million..................and we think the money in football is daft.......... Wonder how much of that Palmer actually got back and how much went back to his sponsors for breach of contract? Maybe it was them who didn't want the payoff so demanded all their money back.

At the end of the day, he made too many mistakes over the last two years. Seemed to have lots of silly spins that cost him points, okay he has been without much luck on the reliability front as well, but he has been a bit 'di Resta' about it all when it comes to saying who is at fault when in front of the media. Don't think that has helped him win many friends in the team.

There is a racing driver in there, he won GP2 after all, but the sharp-end of F1 is not for him where small errors cost too much.. Probably do okay in sportscars.
