People disrespecting Rich Energy need to get a grip, they do have a product, it was released last march, and they've sold over 1,000 cans in the last year alone!

I'm not sure they even exist any more.

    Pre Season Testing!

Begins Friday 12th March and continues for 3 days until Sunday 14th March.

So two thirds of it falls on a weekend, Sky F1 are covering it- enjoy!!

Just a heads up for a bit of track action to look forward to and those who love crunching numbers and analysing how cars look on track!

Whilst we’re on the subject- what do you think the pecking order will be before you see the cars on track? Will be interesting to compare how you see it at the end of testing!

    I will go:

    Mercedes
    Aston Martin (sadly)
    Red Bull
    McLaren
    Ferrari
    Alpine
    Alpha Tauri
    Williams
    Alfa Romeo
    Haas

The Aston Martin looks so refined and obviously taking large parts of the 2020 Merc beast means the work really is on for Red Bull to make a big leap forward and I’m just not sure they will do it in the last year before regulation change.

McLaren Ferrari and Alpine will be very closely locked together at times and I think much depends on how much McLaren have been able to optimise the engine change without compromising rear performance (the FIA have had to monitor whether they are “gaining” above and beyond a reasonable amount from the engine change). Ferrari will be far less draggy we believe and Alpine have a good baseline to start from having finished reasonably strongly last season. It seems very clear to me however that Alpine are absolutely prioritising the new regulations so I expect McLaren and Ferrari to edge them out over the season. If Red Bull are too far behind Merc they’d be sensible to do the same, but they seem like they are run by Max Verstappens contract now which is naive for a team as talented as them so we will see.

Williams have refined their car and Haas have not, so Williams should leap ahead there all being well and I’ve taken them to edge out Alfa Romeo too, though it will be close.

Id really love the whole pack to have reduced the gap to Merc but the Brixworth boys have consistently done a stunning job and I think this is their final hurrah before we bring in new regs.

My pre-season prediction, and in brackets where I expect them to be in reality.

    1. Red Bull (2)
    2. Ferrari (4) - glory runs to get headlines
    3. Mercedes (1) - concentrating on reliability and never showing true pace
    4. Aston Martin (4) - could see some quick times to make headlines, could easily strap on super softs and set fastest time of pre-season, but I'm expecting tyre-corrected times to drop them down.
    5. McLaren (3) - new engine is possibly going to mean more work on systems integration and reliability in pre-season than worrying about times.
    6. Alpine (6)
    7. Haas (10) - they need positive headlines
    8. Alpha Tauri (7)
    9. Williams (8)
    10. Alfa Romeo (9).

Over 3 days of testing I don't think we will get an understanding of the pecking order. It is all going to be about data I suspect. I do hope Faerrari can challenge for the podiums this year so if enough is revealed over three days of testing we might see Ferrari further up the order.

I hope McLaren are up there, but a different engine from last year with different characteristics and different packaging, might be a few early season unforeseen problems.

That Aston looks amazing on the track. Vettel is, apparently, delighted with it.

It's probably the best car he's been in for years, I suspect than even when the Ferrari was quick it was not easy to drive. I hope this car is eaiser to drive and therefore perform in. I really hope he gets a few wins, the factory Merc will be much faster so he'll have to be there when something happens to it.

I think Podiums could be possible, a win, slim but not impossible. I have my fingers crossed for him although not been his greatest fan these last few years. He stepped over the line at Baku. I suspect the pressure on him at Ferrari may have been more than he could cope with. Fresh start, good looking car subject to the right aero, proven engine...he just might recover his reputation.

I’d like to see Max and Lewis is similar equipment and there are quiet rumblings that have Honda making a substantial gain this winter along with a Red Bull that has ironed out its twitchyness.

Personally think Lewis is a bit too much of a Wiley fox for Max but Max obviously has the raw pace to give it a good go.

I’d much prefer Daniel Ricciardo to win it in a surprise McLaren monster haha

Just paint 'em red Ferrari, don't muck about with maroon gradients. And why is the Mission Winnow logo green? All looks a bit of a dog's dinner to me.

Nose looks a little different and they seem to have obscured the rear floor completely. Not sure I like the colour fade either. They should stick to proper Ferrari Red.

It's fair to say that the new livery suffers by comparison!
