On a side not folks not sure if we captured this news last week but Andretti have signed a deal with Renault for engine supply if they do indeed join F1 as intended
What a chump eh? If I were him I'd have shrugged and said masi is the past. Let's all focus on race 1. But then they all have to have a go and mouth it seems.
My irony meter when nuclear and demolished a few alternative universes when I read what he had to say about Masi and bullying
"We were on the receiving end of many of Michael's errors," Horner said. "But he is in a high-pressure role in a high-pressure sport. How many errors did Masi make against Red Bull out of curiosity?
I wonder if he actually believes that, or it's just him deflecting because he knows his last WDC is the most tainted in a sport that has a few of them.
Must have some part to play in it, otherwise why still bang on about it? Imagine what's going to be said when they get their first penalty of the season... It'll be all Mercs making.
I watched a YouTube video of Horner, and I turned on the subtitles. It just kept saying "whiny bullshit".
IMO its just two whiny little Biatches whinging. Wolff on one side and Horner on the other just trying to climbing the moral high ground and being the one hard done by. the SOONER both "retire" the better. let go racing folks.
Wolff is a bit of a dick, but post Silverstone, Horner is above everyone in the dickhead stakes by a country mile imo.
bar verstappen yeah. he was on the wind up as well. can't wait for the racing to start personally is silly season crap for me.
From the BBC Italy's historic Imola circuit has secured a place on the Formula 1 calendar until at least 2025. The track returned to the schedule in 2020 after a 15-year absence as part of F1's attempts to restructure the calendar in the middle of the pandemic. Its success has led to a new deal for the next three seasons. Formula 1 chairman Stefano Domenicali, who began his career working at Imola, said: "The circuit is iconic and has been part of the history of our sport." From 1981 to 2006, the track's event was known as the San Marino Grand Prix, but its name changed when it returned to reflect support from the Emilia-Romagna province in which the race is located. Imola's first grand prix was in 1980, when it held the Italian Grand Prix in place of Monza while renovations took place at the race's traditional home. Domenicali added: "It is a proud moment for our Italian fans to host two races and for all our fans around the world to see this fantastic circuit on the calendar for the future."
I very much want to see Ferrari and McLaren up there too. I want a 4 driver title fight, if not more. If Verstappen is challenged by others than Hamilton he might find his driving style comes under scrutiny. That all said, I don't think it is a given, as yet, that either Hamilton or Verstappen have the best car, you never know, they may not be on the top step. It will partly depend on the compromise to resolve the porpoising which on the videos seemed worse on the Ferrari than the other cars. Might that be because of the babybel cheese effect?
Most reliable car could pick up the win this year not most wins. Who knows. I do feel as though the battle of the second drivers at merc and red bull could be interesting. Russell has the potential to ruin all the other teams hopes by being in there. As i understood the basics on the squished kids cheese that Ferrari are powering up the rear underwing with that so they could have more downforce form that but the bouncing looked hellish so i can't see who a 5% benefit could make it that bad? Maybe their floor was just losing vortices, maybe the suspension was too soft, maybe they were riding too low. who knows. Its certinly interesting and mind bending stuff to learn about.
These folks certainly are mind benders (professional aerodynamicists in various fields), filling their spare time by doing CFD modelling using the new F1 regs and posting CFD images and animations. Interesting to see some of the issues that they were discussing a couple of years ago. https://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28657 This one is pretty gnarly for the brain... https://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27920 but some great animations. This one is an easier ride, and it's interesting that they get into similar discussions about 'the show vs the sport'... https://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28009
