I have a HP Pavilion laptop and in the last few weeks it's turned itself off a few times. Then last night I got a blue screen error message and it turned itself off. Now when I think and turn the laptop on it straight away restarts. Occasionally it will boot up normally, but after a while then turns off. It did bios update by itself. Anyone have any ideas?
I believe HP's are prone to overheating when they get a bit older. You didn't say what vintage yours was.
I'm no expert but I'd try fully charging it for a few hours and see if the problem persists. If you can get into BIOS set at default. Failing that, take a 20 lbs Sledge Hammer....
I bought it in November 2018. It was okay yesterday. But went to turn it on this morning and it is doing the same thing again. I'm just stressing because I've got a University assignment due on the 1st.
Get it to a repair shop, I think they're classed as essential services so should be open. Somebody on here was talking about a good place on Holderness Road(?).
