Thai, I find Chang very tasty, not sure why you call it weak, its ABV is 5% which is up there with the best of them!

hmm - it taste like piss to me

Could explain the headaches though <laugh>

The bottles here are all in Thai, obviously, so I cannot see what the ABV is on any of them. Next you need to find Leo to tell me it's strength <ok>

I also thought Chang brewed in Thailand was stronger about 6%m whereas Chang for the international market was about 5%

Chang in thai is definitely stronger than the international beer, they have changed it a little over the years and is a bit more consistent now but its still at least 6% in thai, you will find one bottle is more potent than the next though, depending on date and where its brewed, had some mother of all hangovers off this.

Leo is around 5% and a lot lighter, much better on the hang over front to..

Continuing with my try them all policy, I've just had an Estonian beer, in a pyramid shaped bottle. The beer is called Viru, also at 5% ABV but tastes much weaker than Chang but has a real after-kick!

Cooling in the fridge is another 5% ABV, this one from Japan and called Kirin Ichiban! I'll let you know!

There really isn't anything quite like a 'Changover'.

I'm sure that the bottles in Thailand say something along the lines of anywhere between 6% and 10%. Leo, Tiger and Singha are all much nicer but when you're backpacking on a budget Chang certainly does the job.

If you're going Czech it's hard to go wrong, I really enjoy Staropramen, although it never seems to taste as good in the UK as it does over there.

I've just bought two bottles of Staropramen with a pint glass for £3 in Tesco. It was delicious, and the glass is very nice too! <ok>

Kirin's pretty good, but some of the American craft brews are incredible, and regularly come in at 10% abv. I work in a bar in Houston and we've got a beer called Prairie Bomb, which rocks in at 14% abv!

I must say I prefer real ales but if I am going to indulge in a lager it would be Budvar the real Budweiser like SN23.

Tastes great and is distinctive, have you guys tried white/wheat beers like Grolsch Weizen or Andechs? Yum yum!

Ah, Adnams, only bettered in UK by Woodfordes. In Philippines San Miguel is king, but much better than the Spanish version. Less gaseous so slides down so easy, and it is hangover free. In six years not one unless I mix drinks.

Looks like I need to visit Tesco! Although I do already have a couple of the glasses kicking around. Not sure how they ended up in my possession....
