I did Den yes, the surround sound was impressive, and we paid the little extra for the VIP seats, which was well worth it.
Why is Farage pinning this to his chest? It's a film about a true life situation developed as part of our relationship with our close European allies, and its not a glorious military victory- it's a retreat.
Was it IMAX? I've never done IMAX and my locals are double what you have paid, so I wonder if the extra is worth it - will be booking later for tomorrow night, so will appreciate anybody's input. Pleased you enjoyed it, as that's a good start, we seem to have similar tastes. Edit: I decided to stop being lazy and google IMAX. The technology sounds interesting and will read further. The difference between IMAX theatres and multiplexes is noteworthy, when it comes to value - I have a choice of two, so more reading required.
Finally went to see Baby Driver last night, I've been busy on Tues and Weds and am too tight to not pay 2-4-1. Anyway... It's alright. There's a highly generic backstory, no plot development, no witty dialogue and chemistry between the actors in the love interest is non-existent. However it's good fun and if you want a brainless 2 hours of car chases, guns and a killer soundtrack then you'll enjoy. No spoiler alert - for me all the best scenes involved Baby and his adopted father. Also for this kind of film there's a strange lacking of easy on the eye women. A solid 7 out of 10.
Cheers I think I've done VIP in there before but couldn't remember if it was worth it as we go so rarely Actually wasn't there a screen at Cineworld at Kingswood that had massive armchairs and an actual bar at the back so you could have a few beers during the film? ...or did I imagine that from years ago?!
No it wasn't IMAX it was 2D Fez, I'm still not sure what IMAX actually is. I believe Cineworld do IMAX but they advertise this film in 2D at Kingswood, and yes Den I think they do have a really good VIP experience at Cineworld but I'm not sure of the cost in comparison to Vue, which was really very good.
The closest cinema to Hull that does IMAX is in Castleford. IMAX is, in a nutshell, is a much larger screen than a typical cinema screen. Not all IMAX screen are the same size though, some are bigger than others. They are all essentially so big that no matter if you sit at the back row, the screen fills your entire field of view. This is probably the best comparison image I can find: please log in to view this image The one I went to in Leeds is somewhere in between those two examples on there.
Just out. Fezess crying; she loved it but it had parallels for her. IMAX is awesome, but 2D would carry it no problem. Apparently Harry Styles was in it, so a credit to him that he didn't stand out from the excellent performances. See it at the cinema and enter the whole experience of the evacuation. Simply superb! Having a Blue Moon wheat beer and Blue Point Toasted Lager - £10.70 the round - and worth every penny.
And if you're feeling a bit deflated after watching Dunkirk make sure you've got Caddyshack at home to cheer you up
Watched The Wall last night, can't recommend it. If you're thing is watching two American soldiers, one hiding behind a wall, the other caught in no man's land and being randomly picked off, trying to evade being shot by an Iraqi sniper that is never seen but heard, for the best part of two hours then fill your boots. Must have been pretty low budget. 3/10
It has John Cena in it, I can't believe it's that bad. How is the sniper able to see him in the first place? I get the feeling nobody on here will get that reference
Sat and watched Dunirk in vip seats in Vue today...superb film...who ever warned off the sound being loud on this thread wasnt wrong!...feel like i have shellshock myself
If you're a fan of documentaries such as Making a Murderer then this has to be on your watchlist #WhoDrewTheDicks
