You seem to be labouring under the misapprehension that bands in the 60's did more drugs than in other era's, when in fact, the opposite is probably true.
I am not labouring under that impression at all. Which is why I said that they drugs now but don't seem to have as much fun doing it and produce as good music. Plenty of bands in this country did drugs in the 60s but didn’t make a big thing a about it as prosecutions could end up with being unable to tour the USA, as happened with Brian Jones which led to his being kicked out of the Stones. In the USA bands existed in a haze of drugs. It wasn’t the case all through the 60s, drugs only became widespread after 65/66. Though jazz musicians have always dabbled. The types of drugs widely used has altered as well. They are also more easily unobtainable.
