Did I just read UEFA now saying that the season must start by end of June or season can't be finished. Then they contradict themselves by saying they could delay the start of next season. They just need to shut up and stop making useless predictions, no one can see the future. Just play it by ear.
Club Bruges to be named champions as Belgian Pro League cancelled The league’s board of directors made the decision and have made a recommendation to the general assembly. It will be made official on 15 April with a working group to decide relegation and promotion issues. -------------------------------------------------- Rugby Union but it could set a precedent? Newcastle Falcons' promotion back to the Premiership has been confirmed. The Rugby Football Union said on Thursday the Championship table would be decided by a "best playing record formula", with Falcons having won all 15 of their league games in 2019-20. Yorkshire's relegation has also been confirmed after the season ended early because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Just read that myself. The pessimist in me can see all leagues following that apart from the Championship. Par for the course, eh?
I’ve a feeling the Belgian outcome is likely in most countries. All that remains to be seen is how promotions and relegations would be handled. Won’t be football before xmas in my opinion
Well if they call this season off and we get promoted I'd take it...and the £500 rebate from my season tickets.
I would too gladly at this stage. Would have been a little bonus to see villa relegated but that’s probably unlikely. Also saw where one pl club has put forward a proposal of finishing the season by playing all the games in China. How daft can things get
SAdly looks like Huffer has played his last game for us .... https://www.footballinsider247.com/leeds-united-ace-set-to-have-played-his-last-game-for-club/
This is why the season has to finish. This was from 2017 when we beat Burnley but football means something. You can't just write it off.
Some cracking matches being played at the minute. Standard in the Nicaragua League is right up there. Potential shock on the cards with Jalapa a goal down. They'd won 7/7 at home h2h
This could be a potential problem for you if season does restart after 30th June. Your over 2 keepers, one will be out of contract, and the other suspended.
Meslier's situation will no doubt be sorted out. Has to be by mid-May, as I understand it. We've got other 'keepers too, btw. Having watched our 16yo Aussie 'keeper screaming at our captain during an u23 game, he's not short of confidence, or skill, so even our lowliest 'keeper could do a job for us.
Leeds aren't too bad with contract situations as appart from Meslier, only White, Harrison, Costa and Berrardi will be out of contract. Fulham have 8 players.
Meslier should hopefully convert to a full time contract by mid-May, at an agreed cost of £5m. Costa's loan automatically converts to a full time contract, at a agreed cost of £15m. Not optional, sadly. Berra is open to extending & I believe they had agreed to wait until the end of season to discuss whether he extends or not. He's always loved Leeds openly, but has many times expressed a desire to end his playing days in Italy - but he aint gonna be in a hurry to go over there atm. White & Harrison would be a loss, but we've got loads of suitable cover.
Additionally, clubs have been informed that annual leave to which the players are contractually entitled, should be taken now.
