Last game of the season to stay up - Manchester United away - love it!........ All I know is that we have to play the other 19 twice each. When you look at that lot, 17th will do for me.
Looking at this fixture list, I'm a lot less confident than I was ... Nah, we'll be fine.. In Warnock we trust!!!
Let's be honest outside the top 6 (Man C, Man U, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool) we should fear no one.
Reverse psycholgy from Colin? From Talksport this morning.......... Warnock admits it would take a miracle to save Cardiff from relegation, given their lack of financial resources compared with their new rivals. However, the Bluebirds boss insists there is more than enough spirit in the team to give them a fighting chance. “We all know how difficult it’s going to be, but all the lads are looking forward to it,” he added. “We’ve got to try and enjoy it. Cardiff face back-to-back games against Chelsea and Man City – the past two Premier League champions “I know it’s alright me saying that when we’re coming up against these huge teams, and it would be a miracle [to stay up]. “We’re rock bottom with the bookies and our wage bill is going to be just over half of Huddersfield’s, and it’s the same with transfers, so we’re going to be up against it.
A relatively easy start before some of the big boys come calling. If we can get some points on the board beforehand, who knows what'll happen. It's going to be tough and at times so awful results (not too many I hope) but it's going to be interesting, if nothing else.
He said we’d do well to get in top 6 last season. He knows it’ll be difficult but equally he knows City are on a par with several of the less fancied clubs. He’s a master at dealing with interviews.
Enjoy the ride lads; automatic promotion was a pipe dream this time last year. I think we have a better squad than the last time we were up there. Yes there will be some hidings along the way but outside the top 6 there are plenty of beatable teams. I just hope I enjoy it more than last time.
There was a lot of distracting stuff going on, in and around the club last time we were up there and wasn't to do with football. This time round we have a better set up with nothing to distract from the football. I think we will make a better fist of it this time round and if we don't, hey, it should be more enjoyable.
Yeah BT the stuff going on off the pitch was what I was alluding to. Hopefully we can just get behind the team this time round and if we are not good enough so be it.
I also believe the squad is closer knit than last time with more capable of making the step up, including the coaching staff. Been having a debate with one of the Fulham posters about their squad. They're talking about spending £20M on one of the players they had on loan last year. They don't seem to recognise that just gets them a player they had, it doesn't improve their squad of last year. Running to stand still. Be interesting to see how the 3 promoted sides fare. We need hoilett to sign up soon, though there were some worrying words quoted by Colin on that subject. Doesn't seem to be a done deal.
Can’t help but look at the fixtures and question who are the likely relegation candidates. Bit pessimistic I know but realistic. Huddersfield Fulham and Brighton perhaps? Maybe Bournemouth and Burnley have overachieved and will run out of steam?
Bloody hell Nin - that's weird! I was looking yesterday at the opposition for this season to try to find three candidates for the drop if we could avoid it. I came up with exactly the same - 18th to 20th in order - Fulham, Huddersfield and Brighton were my pick.
