On another subject, you aint no Brian May HIAG, but not a bad attempt....one of my favourite songs....

 

Standard Friday night karaoke, the singer is ****ing useless and we won’t mention the drummer.

 

I have to try to be Brian May, Jimmy Page, Dave Gilmore, Michael Schenker, Tony Iommi, Billy Gibbons, Ritchie Blackmore, etc.

It's impossible. Just as impossible as it would be for any of them to sound like every other player.

The best that anyone can strive for is to come close.

In most of the songs we play, I jam large parts of the solos "in the style of" the artist. And in a few songs I simply play it as myself.

Those are the ones I like to play, best.

 

Was your drummer on speed? He was all over the place.

 

That wasn’t his finest hour.

To be fair to all of us, when that footage was shot we had not long learned that song. I can tell from my own performance that we’re all fairly green.

After a year or more of playing it, we provide a more accomplished performance.
