So Newcastle United have joined Chelsea and Manchester City in the solid gold moral sewer of English Football. I know their fans hated Ashley. I appreciate they are happy that he's gone. But a lot of Clubs under a lot of crappy owners have suffered a lot worse than Premier League Newcastle. And chants of "We've got our Club back" I fear are very misguided. Toon are now owned by a regime that murders journalists who won't toe the line. I would expect the Newcastle local press to be acutely aware of that situation. To me as an outsider, this is a sad day for the honour and integrity of Newcastle United FC.
I'm pretty happy with TS owning CAFC, not so happy that Douchatelet still owns the assets. Rick recently revealed that Andrew Barclay and a co-investor were willing to pay Douchbag's price for the assets, but the Belgian refused to communicate with them, and once he got a sniff of ESI's interest he leapt at the chance to keep the assets and let someone else take the financial risks.

Optimist of the week Award: Steve Bruce He's been speculating about Newcastle United's new future As if he's likely to be involved in it for more than a couple more weeks
That was a bizarre challenge. Almost impossible to comment further without sounding sexist, so I won't... (bugger, I think I just did)
Good win for the women this afternoon 2-1 That's 4 wins out of 5 games, and 4th in the table with a game in hand. A good weekend's work. Hope they got some extra fans in to cheer them on too.
OGS says Rashford "Needs to prioritise his football". That's silly. He should be defending his player's work, and be glad he's not just playing video games or boozing n gambling in his spare time, of which footballers have quite a lot.
OGS just showing yet again that A) he's out of his depth, and B) He's a small minded little twerp. United got what they deserved today. Well done Leicester
Newcastle United have issued a statement concerning some fans who have been dressing up in 'Arab' style clothing as part of a celebration of the change of ownership; www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/newcastle-united-issues-guidance-on-matchday-attire/ Just to make something clear at this point. This is England. Not Saudi Arabia. No offence was intended. Fans were celebrating the new owners and the release from 14 years under Mike Ashley. If fans had been "blacking up" then I could understand the sensitivity of that. But as far as I'm aware that has not happened. This is purely about a dress code. "Culturally inappropriate" is a polite way of saying cut it out. Did Mike Ashley ever tell Newcastle fans how they should dress when attending matches?
Regarding the above post; Today (23rd October) Newcastle United have back-tracked on their statement of October 20th and withdrawn their call for fans to stop wearing Arab style clothing. A very sensible move.
Now the Police are investigating a banner held up by Palace fans, criticising the Premier League and Saudi human rights abuses. I have no love for Palace fans. But our freedom of speech is under attack by Politically Correct authorities of all kinds. Speak out against their agenda, and you're told to be quiet or you'll get your collar felt. This used to be a free Country.
