Very mixed feelings about West Ham winning the Europa last night. On the one hand, I have a Spanish mate who is a huge fan, so made up for him.
On the other hand, they got a great stadium virtually free thanks to Johnson doing his usual corrupt stuff., so they have a huge financial advantage over other clubs. Plus their fans are ar$eholes.

Hammers hate Millwall, which is one good reason to like them <hug>

A ground only taking 20k for a final is not acceptable.

Quite right. No shortage of morons working for UEFA.
    They treat fans with contempt.

I dread to think what the cost of tickets were.

So, the absolute fag end of the 2023-24 season burns itself out this evening.

One to forget for Charlton Athletic.

    PS:

UAE sports-washing propaganda took up the whole first 10 minutes of the BBC breakfast news.
I see nothing to celebrate about a foreign Dictatorship debasing English football.

    The Yorkshire Terriers incident;
Could it have been a wildly swung elbow?

Not making any excuses. A full force elbow to the face is a very nasty way to attack somebody, easily within the scope of GBH.
It's about the only thing I can think of that might occur within a match and cause the injuries described.
    That, or a serious head-butt.

Harder to imagine a Charlton Invicta player just laying into another player on the pitch as if they were having a bar brawl.
But there must have been some aggravation beyond the incident itself for the match to be abandoned.
Maybe the team-mates of the injured man were convinced it was malicious and refused to play on?

Is there a connection with Charlton Athletic?
A very strange affair, and will be interesting to see how things pan out.

Some info on Charlton Invicta FC courtesy of Wiki...

    Yorkshire Terriers 02.png

It seems they were not originally connected to CAFC but they are now, through the Community Trust.
They were the first LGBT... team to be affiliated with an established Football Club.

I was at Upton Park for the 1-0 Graham Stuart game on Easter Monday '99.
My two mates who barely did aways had tickets, me going to virtually all minus midweeks did not. Anyway, got a ticket in the boozer by Upton Park tube and the geezers were mega sound. I told them I was Charlton and they went on to say they had mates that had gone to the Sunderland final and were very okay with Charlton.

I was OK (in a neutral kind of way) with West Ham until the Tevez business and Fergie letting Curbs beat Man Utd so WHU could stay up.
And then the Olympic Stadium scandal.

Not saying I hate them now. But apart from when they play Millwall I'm not so inclined to wish them well anymore, as I still am with other Clubs - Leyton Orient for example.

Strange, out-of-character move by the Home Office. Is Suella on holiday?

Normally they're Hell-bent on stopping foreigners coming to the UK.
