So you believe Cortois and Hazard actually read this stuff.... "I started this thread with a deliberately provacative headline, at a time when we needed all players to commit,". Really CP. If we keep Hazard for the rest of the season I would be happy, longer... I will be ecstatic.

I think the Hazard solution lies with Chelsea. Keep improving under Sarri get champions league football and a few pots and I’ll think he will stay. After all players of his calibre need to be on the big stage.

No, I doubt players read our threads, I just try as much as possible to get some reaction going on this board, which is too often subdued.
I agree completely that Hazard should be kept if humanly possible. However if Sarri is to rebuild the team, then it would be nice to know that the player who is key to the entire planning is going to be there before he starts.
Hazard owes us that much surely ?

Really I think we have one season left with Hazard. He may pull the old sign an extension deal to bump his price trick, but next summer we will be counting Real’s money and he will be off to Spain.
I don’t want him to leave as he’s great and I honestly feel he’s not the right fit for Madrid. I also believe going to real at this stage in his career is phoning it in. There’s no competition in Spain beyond Barca and he won’t improve.

    All true.
But when he is playing the likes of Malaga and Getafe each week, who are League One level, and are scoring a hattrick every game whilst earning 400k a week, plus winning the odd Champions League title, I dont suppose he will care that much.
Especially when the Spanish press **** over him and give him a stupid Spanish nickname like El Furio or some ****.

Bbc quotes today from Belgium camp.

"70 million pounds for Hazard, next June".

    Disgraceful fee.

The way Real are going, they might be getting done 3-0 by Malaga and Getafe next season !!!!
    Then he'd be El Sickasaparrotto.

Not even Chelsea would let him go for that! If Roman wants to sell him he will be holding Real to ransom. My best guess would be no less than £150m

With only 1 year left on his contract and only 1 place he wants to go, we're not going to be in a strong enough position to get 150 million. See Courtois. It won't be as bad as that because I don't think Hazard would force the transfer in the same way but even so....

Exactly, even with just 1 year - 150 million is a day light robbery.

I hope we make him play out the last season of his contract, rather than sell him up for less than 150 million pounds.

Can't see you getting that with only a year left. 70 seems about right imo.

Exactly what I was thinking. He lives Chelsea and will want to get the best deal he can. He will sign a new deal for 4 years but will be gone next summer.

I would be already planning for life without Hazard.
Only thing is will Real want him if they get Kane and /or Neymar who they would kill for. Throw in Sterling, and Hazard to Real might just be starting to go pear shape.

Why would Real go for Sterling? You seem to have posted this just after he played well for England

  17. Chelsea are set to make Eden Hazard the highest-paid player in the Premier League by offering the 27-year-old Belgium forward up to £350,000 per week. (Sunday Express)

If this is true, I really do think that CFC is making a rod for its own back.

Look at the problems at Arsenal, having put Popeye on a ridiculous contract, to stop him leaving.

Of course it’s a terrible chore having the best player in the premier league but then some clubs can afford that.
