Yep , people pay by facial recognition in shops now too.
Like the biometric passport Gates we have at airports.

 

Yeah,a girl went into a shop to get veg and used face recognition to pay,same girl had to use face recognition to access the internet,mad stuff but I suppose we're not a million miles away with tap and go etc

 

We already have it , all passports are biometric now and there is a big push for us to have ID to go online .

The Chinese can still go to pubs and restaurants without I D and pay with cash they are more free than us at the moment.

They locked down for 3 months and now it's business as usual.

 

I was going to say that surely they can use cash for some things. Hookers etc

 

The biggest notes are ¥100 about £10 and they have ¥1 notes and coins.
It's too much of a pain in the arse to carry wads of notes for pocket change so they pay on their phones for nearly everything.

Most of us are doing it out of convenience here too or contactless.

 

Something in that right enough and we do tend to give away a lot of info without realising it e.g Screwfix,Paddy Powers,Just Eat etc

 

Yeah I have €30 in my wallet now for about 3 weeks.

 

I pay cash for pretty much everything.

When we did that eat out scheme thing last year all food and drink had to be bought through the phone .

Even Wetherspoons wouldn't serve you at the bar using cash or card.

The bar staff only bring orders to your table.

 

If the UK went cashless tomorrow I doubt many would care , just kids and old people would be put out but my 11 year old niece has a contacless bank cars.
