Huge chance for Max this weekend, looking like a 13-15 point swing in his favour should be possible tomorrow.

 

He’ll be fighting Ferraris all day tomorrow. Should be fascinating.

Ferrari on pole- hope he can stay there and hasn’t got gearbox damage- I thought it was more the rear of the car that would need to have been damaged for that?

 

Not the way he’d have wanted it, but a stellar first lap. Hope he keeps it.

How long until we know about the damage?

 

After the initial hit on the front right, the car swung and slammed the rear right into the wall.

Fingers crossed he got away with it, Latifi did. Max promoted to pole might take a lot of excitement out of the race tomorrow.

 

Rain would be good .

 

Verstappen 1 second quicker then Perez, thats massive for teammates.

 

Hamilton is the Goat so will end up on the podium tomorrow. You will see

 

He's been pretty dire so far this weekend so that would be quite the turn around.

Have to see what happens with Leclerc but it'll come down to the pitstops if he does start P1. Unless there's monumental tyre wear it'll be as you were after the first corner.

 

Had to run in to the office early this morning so missed qualifying. Will catch up with it here in a bit.

Merc are going to have to strategize the crap out of this one to get Hamilton near the podium.

 

Sounds like they went wrong way with setup and car wasn't handling very well at all.
Hopefully CLC hasn't damaged his gearbox and can stay on pole. Should be an interesting race, well for Monaco anyway.

 

Do we really have any representative long run pace?

I have to say if Charles does have a penalty, IF Sainz could jump Bottas into P2, he has looked mega fast all weekend and I wonder if he could sit off Max and pounce for the under cut?

Enormously high chance of safety cars of course too, so that always could slightly mix it up depending on its timing.

 

I think Max has swapped two Mercs for two Ferraris this weekend. Can’t see Bottas making much of an impact. Would love to see Norris get a good result, he was great in quali again.

They couldn’t get into the tyre window with Hamilton’s setup apparently. Difficult to see where they go from here. Hamilton has been on social media urging people to pray for rain!

 

The merc strategist said the other day that an advantage rbr have is that they are better at getting the heat into the tyres , which is even more critical on a circuit like this .

I’d like rain as well , just to make it interesting .
