Very processional but at least the cars were close. If anyone was in any doubt that Bottas isn't driving for Merc next year his fastest lap is proof.
Althogh it still went to Lewis in the end it was still preferable to give it to his team mate than give it to red bull and Max by doing it with 10-15 to go.
Just hoping for any scenario to see those two actually get to fight for a bit... Just never happened. I'm amazed we got through that without a safety car. And WTF is going on with the anthems?
Hamilton is probably thinking the same thing. He will be on to it with his PA right away Edit: he has had Prince William or Harry I think. And of course Bieber
Bottas tried to follow the orders and didn't lift enough. More an embarrassing ****-up than a defiant statement. The circuit itself was better than I feared. We got some strategic variation and overtakes were somewhat possible and visually interesting when they did happen. Unfortunately, on-track battles between Merc and Red Bull just can't happen at any circuit without major tyre variance. This is why we still need the reg changes despite the closer championship.
It seemed like we could have got some on track battles up top had they not run in to traffic every single time one was brewing. Timing was just terrible. Needed a safety car at some point to let them have a clear spell up front...but unbelievably not one.
No I don’t agree about Bottas . He slowed down a little bit , but did imho make a statement . I do wish though that he had not backed off .
Again tho...half arsed. if you're going to defy the order, just go out and bang one in and stick two fingers up to them. That would have made me laugh even more.
Jan Lammers...now there's a blast from the past. Has me remembering the days of the 850 estate touring car.
As much as Zandvoort is an interesting track design wise, as a F1 racing venue it’s crap for the current cars. The new design cars from next year might make overtaking easier as they can get closer but the track layout is not condusive for great racing. It’s just a faster version of Monaco
