TANGMERE ran in a barrier trial this morning and came from last to win well. Apparently it was his second trial and second win. A racecourse debut beckons next.

BETTY F is set to contest the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes after pleading in a raceourse gallop.

HERCULEAN will run in a Novice Stakes at Haydock next Saturday instead of contesting the G2 Royal Lodge. He also holds a Dewhurst entry but connections are unsure whether he will go that route or be put away for a Classic campaign. He's a big, backward looking individual so will undoubtedly be seen to better effect next year.

Frankel fever hit the Rowley Mile racecourse on Thursday morning when Noseda's Cheveley Park Stakes candidate mixed it with the smart three-year-old maiden La Figlia, both offspring of the 14-time unbeaten champion. Betty F, ridden by Frankie Dettori, matched strides out of the Dip with her older companion and looks sure to be in the mix back at the track next Saturday.

Interesting. HERCULEAN has been declared for the Royal Lodge despite his trainer being adamant he would run at a Haydock in a Novice on Saturday instead. Maybe he's been showing something at home that suggests he's ready to step up so quickly...
