Gambling has been in the news a lot recently what with the amount of people 'addicted' to it or teetering on the edge of addiction. I'm sure most of us know someone who just can't help themselves whether it be horses, greyhounds, football accumulators or even online bingo. As someone who doesn't have the gambling bug and who has never put a bet on his life, I have a lot of sympathy for people whose lives have been ruined because of their gambling habits. Anyone got any stories, good or bad?
I have placed tens of thousands of bets in my time and have only ever had a hand full of bets that I have lost money on. Gambling is a mugs game.
No, but bookies dislike me very much. So much so that if I opened any online betting account I would be limited to very small bets or banned completely within days or weeks.
It's not rocket science. Sports arbitrage. Back in the day it was quite easy to make money. Money could only be lost if markets moved against you unexpectedly. It's still possible to make money these days but it's more difficult. It narks me that bookies advertise their services but are not legally made to explain how they make their money.
Addiction is never a good thing , but in my experience an addiction that harms you financially is one of the worst issues involved in it. Gambling seems to be giving the impression it's glamerous! Cocaine still has that image , but the reality is far from it . It will bring to your knees both mentally, emotionally, physically and financially. The reason people start is because they're arrogant enough to think that they are somehow different to the people who've fallen victim to these life traps and think they will be able to control it. I know what I'm talking about with addiction sadly The only drug you need is excersize it will release dopamine naturally Stay clean lads Oats water eggs and excersize
I was pretty much addicted to betting. I'll not lie, it was ****ing great making shed loads of money at the expense of bookmakers.
Sorry to hear that mate I'm always a recovering drug addict and I can understand ti a degree what you went/ go through on a daily basis. I found a replacement for drugs and it was learning to love my body and release dopamine naturally through excersize..I think it's all about fill8ng voids in your life whatever your addiction is but you have to figure it out yourself firstly and then fill your void accordingly .
Mate, I wasn't addicted to gambling or the thrill of gambling. I was addicted to placing bets that would guarantee a profit. It was making the money that I loved. The thing is, making money is great but when it was taking over my life it was time to bite the bullet, pack it in and start to enjoy life.
To be honest anyone who gambles, smokes or does drugs reguarly is a ****ing moron. Now pass me that beer.
I love a drink. I hate smoking. I detest drugs but I do like the odd bet. My wife would say I’m addicted to alcohol but I’m never hung over, I never have fights, I’m what you call a happy drinker. I just start telling people I love them. Lol
