From what I remember, Corbyn was 'a disaster' on the doorstep in most working-class areas in 2017 too.

But, the Party were still 'honouring Brexit' at this stage.

When I've spoked to people, in typically working-class areas, it was possible to cut through anti-Corbyn sentiment quite easily. Never once did anyone ever mention AS. Ever.

The only things that ever came up, in my presence, were Brexit and past associations - namely IRA. This was quite easily to take down.

The stance on Brexit though was very very tough to break through. And that has shown.

I hoped we would sneak through the heartlands areas (with a majority of one is still a majority) and then clean up in your big metropolitan cities.

I am a member who has campaigned - yes.

 

Some responses were barking but showed the strength of feeling about Brexit.

Heard one or two, in working-class areas, say they wanted Brexit done even if it utterly destroyed the NHS as they 'have never used it and won't ever use it'.

On a run of four straight defeats. Normally in an election cycle the performances would be improving. Labour has just been totally dismantled. They’re going down.

Just looking the popular vote and it's interesting how it translates into seats.

Tory vote share only increased by 1.2% (with one seat to declare).

With LDs, SNP, Greens all seeing some sort of increase.

But, crucially, in such a system, Labour's decreased by 7.8%

 

And it doesn’t matter a **** that more than half the country didn’t vote for the tories, they’re still stuck with 100% Tory rule for the next 5 years.

Hence why I refuse to vote.

what percentage of the total UK vote did the SNP get to end up with over 50 MPs? Lib Dem’s got 1 with a lot more voting for them. Greens and Brexit Party 5% between them and only 1 seat.
