    Local person? Or Boris/Jeremy?

    In local elections, I only ever vote for who can do the best locally. MP is different, I look at the parties.

    You've answered my question in that reply.

    I voted today, the same as I would in a local election, for the person I thought was best candidate. I voted for a person who has a real interest in our local area and who has listened to residents and acted on their behalf. I don't necessarily want the leader of the party he represents as prime minister.

    Looking at the individual didn't help me.

    I live in a small section of a constituency that is heavily Tory everywhere else. No a chance it'll change.

    In Mansfield (not my constituencysince moving almost 3yrs ago), it's Ben Bradley. He works hard and does a good job imo but doesn't entirely suit my work.

    I don't like the labour candidate; she used to be a local district councillor and I thought she was poor. Never met her despite her doing two terms in my area of work; we work very closely with elected members.

    I see now why you are finding it hard to motivate yourself to vote.

    Going to be a rough few years for the 'average' person now that they're looking on track for a majority win.

    By rough few years, I of course mean that we're ****ed.

    Been saying that for weeks. Their insistence on a second referendum killed any chance they had, not to mention the ridiculous stuff they put in their manifesto! Joke of a party.

    If the 80+ Tory majority is true then I'm off

    The rich always threaten to leave the UK if the election goes against them but none of them ever do because they have too many assets to worry about

    Fortunately I have nothing to lose and will be off to Europe to beg for citizenship while the rest of you slowly drown in a Tory cesspit of your own creation

    @astro

    I deleted it as it's not appropriate to wind people up in this subject at this time. Removed your comment too as it contained what I posted.

    I agree with your comments on the Tories but Labour only have themselves to blame. Ridiculous promises that just couldn't ever work.

    Add to that that nobody wants a second referendum; would we just keep going until everyone (impossible) was happy?

    Increasing minimum wage is just fast inflation.
