I just put this on twitter: Got to feel for #Martinez & the #Everton boys after last night. If they'd scored that 2nd #Citeh goal, you can bet it wouldn't have stood
Poor Russ Russell Martin's end is nigh Ever seen Martin using his ongoing battle with ulcerative colitis as an excuse? The only time we’ve heard about it was when he became a sporting ambassador for Crohn’s & Colitis UK. That’s it. ... Russell is unique. He isn't the fastest, he isn't the strongest, he isn’t the most aggressive, or the most skilful defender we have. He’s never won the Barry Butler and he’s caused more negative debate about his position than any other player. He is both solid and a liability. He has become a Premier League captain without being brilliant. That takes focus and determination – imagine Redmond with that drive. http://www.thelittleyellowbirdproject.co.uk/articles/2016/1/26/russell-martins-end-is-nigh
He may well be. I was laughing at the ridiculous state and nature of the current market more than anything.
Just saw Reece Oxford was going on loan to Charlton. I thought, what a great capture for struggling Charlton. Just seen on Twitter: "Reece Oxford's Charlton loan is off...because boss Jose Riga didn't know who he was" ....
Prem clubs are a floody disgrace says Carlisle chairman Andrew Jenkins Only Everton and Sunderland respond to plea for help over storm-wrecked Brunton Park “I had written to a few clubs. The big London ones, large clubs in the North West, some much closer to home here, and even north of the border." I'd like to think that if NCFC were asked and it's not clear if we were or weren't that we would have followed Everton and Sunderlands lead. The ones who declined, given the crazy riches of the PL, epitomise whats wrong with the greed of modern life and football. Bah!
And yet the irony is that the players of Carlisle were out 'doing their bit' for the community in the aftermath of the severe floods. So it wasn't as if they weren't leading by example!
That was my first thought when I heard it on Talksport on the way to work. I'd be really surprised and disappointed if true.
Yes, I saw the article and hoped that we would have done our bit - it wouldn't have harmed any PL club to have donated £100K. The players could be seen helping the locals clear up and then once the water drained away the locals could be seen helping the players clear up the pitch. Let's hope it's a good game on Sunday!!!
I guess the only argument with giving a charitable donation of such madnitude is that; is a football club irrespective of circumstances the most worthy of causes when compared to the many other charities that we all as individuals or City as a club might support? That said you would hope that all clubs asked directly could at least have bunged them some merchandise or tickets. All of that said, you might hope that the football community would rally around a little more in such circumstances. Bah!
Norwich is a bit far away, but if a more local(ish, it's Cumbria we're dealing with!) higher profile team had arranged a benefit match where Carlisle kept all the proceeds, that would have been a massive boost for them.
We could do that on a cup week, or international week, as we wont be in any cups, and not many internationals, especially after how we have been playing.
Be interesting to see how Pato does in the Premiership. He's kind of gone off radar since moving back to Brazil. He was a wonderkid back in the day. Don't really know if he developed, or went backwards.
In other news City legend Grant Holt has had his contract at the Egg Chasers terminated by mutual consent. **** it, let's bring him back as a "Super-Sub"
Just seen this and felt totally disgusted. I know it's the Mirror, but I doubt it would be published with no foundation at all http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/young-everton-fan-cerebral-palsy-7272387
Oh my got that is F**king disgusting. Those Man City fans are just scum! Also, put him in the home area? With all his Everton clobber!? How stupid was that!? I don't understand both parts. Unacceptable. and disgusting.
