I'm one of those fans who's found F1 hard to stay engaged with the last few years, but I've really enjoyed this race

Just watched the race, brilliant drive from Charles and another entertaining race.

 

Yes, me too, although Charles must know something tasty about the stewards!

 

Let me guess from that picture - Italian GP? They do the same at Mugello for the MotoGP, when I last watched. Only in Italy, I think.

 

Nah. The teams asked the stewards after Spa for more liberal use of the black and white flag where there is no contact, to allow for precisely this kind of racing. He was on the line, but not quite over it.

The second incident where he cut the chicane, Lewis actually gained on him by a car’s length, so no advantage gained.

It was right up against the rules, but name me a top level driver that doesn’t nudge that line.

Anyhow, just waiting on Tom’s congratulations after an exceptional drive

 

First Ferrari win at Monza since Alonso in ‘10. Huge pressure on young shoulders all the way around, with Hamilton less than a second away pretty much the whole race. Was tense!

 

Remember as well when Verstappen pushed him wide to win in Austria. Charles basically said “okay, now I know where the new line is”. The kid learns quick.

Anyhow, don’t expect Ferrari to be anywhere near the pace in Singapore. That’s Red Bull vs Merc territory.
