Anyone actually seen the video? I have and it isn’t that bad. Incredibly stupid by someone in the limelight and was always going to get a hefty punishment but obviously meant as joke

Motor racing isn't my thing but there are people who will always be remembered as icons of their sport and Stirling Moss is one of those people.
His name must be known by everybody of my generation. The piece in the BBC report where he lost the title by backing up Mike Hawthorn was incredible sportsmanship.

Policeman to speeding motorist "who do you think you are then, Stirling Moss?"

It is sometimes said that one of the most important things a famous person can do is make sure they die on a slow news day...impossible at the moment. Stirling won't get the coverage he deserved....a great sportsman.

I have observed over the years that famous people usually die in threes.

So if anyone wants to watch some actual live sport, the NFL Draft is going on at the moment. It's the 5th round (of 7) so not as exciting as the earlier rounds but the time is far more sociable for us Brits.

Haven't been watching but have been following. Looks like the Vikings picked up a gem in the 1st round.

I didn't have a camera handy when I scored my best goal with Subbuteo. All I can tell you is that it was undoubtedly the best goal ever scored.

That's a shame. We could use some more spectacular sports moments what with the sports going out for cigarettes and never coming back.

I still have my Subbuteo up in the loft. Quality game.

I was still playing it regularly into my late 20s and after marriage and kids, only when my best friend and I would get the families together. Then the Subbuteo cloth (and by then it was fixed to a piece of board) would come out and we’d end up arguing over some dodgy decision.

Best game we ever had was never finished. We were in our 20s and decided to play a full 90 minute game (usually we only played 10 or 15 minutes each way. It was Saints v United. He was a united fan and generally was a slightly better Subbuteo player than me.

We were drawing 1-1 with 10 minutes to go when I scored a screamer into the top corner; a real cracker. He claimed that my player connected with this player before it hit the ball (a foul). All hell let lose. Big debate and it ended up with me packing my players say and stomping out as he refuse to allow the goal. We never fell out, and the next day all was normal.

About 20 years later when my lad was getting into Subbuteo, my mate admitted to us that the goal was legit.
