Well, it’s all races really. I like Valterri, but he’s never going to be a big threat to Lewis. Shame they don’t stick someone a bit better in the car against him, but that’s just not the way too often any more in the big teams.
Well, the two drivers who could be a threat to Lewis, Charles and Max are on long term contracts with their teams and Charles isn't going to threaten Lewis in the box of bolts he's driving. Max has shown glimpses of being competitive and he was ahead of Bottas in the standings before his two DNF's. And like you said, the big teams tend to have one lead driver and one driver who always tends to take a back seat.
I have a lot of time for Valtteri but I think he will be lucky to see out next year . He is very very good , Lewis is a different league to all currently .
Sure, but I think someone like George Russell would give him a better run for his money. Valterri is broken now. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a genuinely special talent in F2 at the moment. A crop of good (and by that I mean Bottas/Sainz level) drivers, but not a Max/Charles special talent. Would have loved to see Ricciardo in a Merc. That might have been fun.
Hmmm. He’s good, and I do like him. But very, very good? Not for me. He’s one of a large crop of good.
An unbelievable turnaround in the penultimate stage of the Tour de France today. Primož Roglič took a 57 second lead over his fellow Slovenian Tadej Pogačar into the 36 km Individual Time Trial, only for the 21 year old to turn the deficit into a 59 second lead, thus making Pogačar the youngest winner of the Tour since Henri Cornet in 1904. And not content with taking the maillot jaune, he wins the King of the Mountains and, naturally, the white jersey for the best rider under 25 as well. For me, this is one of the greatest achievements in sporting history.
Wonderful behaviour. Don’t expect to see it in the modern super-competitive world. Teagle wouldn’t have complained if he’d been passed...would have accepted it as his mistake. Spain should be proud.
He’s been given an honorary third place and prize money....all of 200-250 euros (?). The size of the prize may go some way to explain why they still behave well in triathlons.
