Read that he was on the shortlist to become the manager of Rangers. Hope he doesn't take the job, spend some time learning with us and then look for the right job in the right league, Scottish footy is bunk. I'd be disappointed if he left for that job.
Its all going wrong for Liverpool isnt it. One foot out of the Champions League. Salah lined up for Real Madrid in the summer. Now Mr Liverpool going to the dark side.
Right foot out, left foot in, Salah is under contract and if our owners accept any massive offer for him they'll be hounded back to Boston and out of the club in the blink of and eye. I think Gerrard to Ibrox is great news for Brendan and Celtic.
tbh.... i dont really care as i want him off bt commentating on us. he is frankly after been giving a starting point with us. u18s us a coaching role to grow in. it's a 1000.miles from managing a club. if he is that impatient and wants to jump in where theres not the resources to beat celtic but the expectation then theres only one ending.
Club's a mess and lacks the resources and first team to properly compete with Celtic so if he goes there and even ends up being a coaching wizard he'd still end up leaving after like 6 months because they can't get above the hoops and them going back to Murty again like the ex they can't stop themselves from using
If he goes its good management experience for him, for when he comes back and takes over from Klopp in 5 or so years. Get all the mistakes out of the way in a league that doesn't matter.
bit sick of the twat mouthing off commentating on our games on tv cos thetes no way he is replacing klopp in 3 or 4 year after commentating on his players. If he thinks he can take on a club like rangers who are nowhere near the level of Celtic but who demand to be at that level then fair enough. the reality however he has zero experience picking players and as barely dipped his wick in coaching. this is a good reciepe for gary Neville mark ii
Lol. Didn't rhc mean it in the sense of not going to happen not he literally couldn't see anything on it. Or you taking the piss lol. Suppose if you wasn't I have given you an out either way
Steven Gerrard frontrunner for Rangers manager's job Steven Gerrard could take his first steps into senior club management with Rangers Steven Gerrard is now the frontrunner to become the manager of Rangers and the job is his if he wants it, BBC Scotland has learned. Contact has now been made between the Ibrox club and representatives of the former England and Liverpool captain. Gerrard, 37, is a youth development coach at Anfield. Graeme Murty, 43, has been in charge of Rangers since October and the club have other candidates on their shortlist - but Gerrard is the man they want. Gerrard to Rangers? 'A huge gamble' Burnley's Arfield free to speak to Rangers Hull's McGregor agrees Rangers terms If Gerrard agrees to take over, he would join his former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers in Glasgow, with the Northern Irishman on the verge of winning back-to-back domestic trebles with Celtic. Speaking on Friday morning before Saturday's home Premier League game against Stoke City, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said of Gerrard: "I am not worried. "Whatever he wants to do we will support him in that. There is no decision. I can imagine clubs are interested in signing Stevie, [he has] massive experience as a player so I would think about him signing for a club. We will support him in all directions." Murty was interim manager before and after Pedro Caixinha's brief spell as Rangers boss and the former Reading and Scotland defender was given the manager's job until the end of the season in December. His side are second in the Scottish Premiership - ahead of Aberdeen on goal difference - and visit Celtic Park on Sunday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43921541
Best of luck to him if he goes. Even better luck to him if he stays. If Klopp got hit by a bus tomorrow I wouldn't want Gerrard to take over. He's not done anything to prove he is good enough. If he wants to develop himself with our youth or take a step down and manage Rangers, either way is fine with me. I think having a name like Gerrard involved with the youth would get the kids excited to join us, but it's far from the end of the world if he leaves and learns the trade elsewhere.
It would be nice if he beat Rodgers and I wish him luck but otherwise I'm meh either way. He won't be difficult to replace with the youth and I can't see him following Klopp, even if he does well at Ibrox. I suspect he knows FSG wouldn't take a chance unless he's proven himself elsewhere and not just at one club.
