Was Arsene Wenger a failure at Arsenal?

    Mourinho a failure at Chelsea?

Even Ferguson left an ageing side when he left United (who had just walked away with the league) and the youth he signed to come through were mostly not great - over-rated manager?

I agree in part but don't think you can just entirely ignore what a manager achieves at a club.

They won trophies and a wenger left the club in a better position than when he took over and Jose I'm not too sure about as he had two tenures.

I stand by my original comment that all, nufc managers since robson have failed bar hughton and rafa because all the others left the club in a worse state than they inherited... Their job was to take the club fwd and they all failed to do that ultimately. Obviously the aim wasn't winning trophies that's nothing to do with nufc we don't win them.

It's something managers want both ways ie time. If it starts well let's just ignore the foundations you inherited and attribute the wind to the new manager, but if it goes badly they need time to be judged.
