I saw a documentary a while back and they were interviewing this Glaswegian, Rangers-supporting barman. He was wearing an England shirt and in a thick Glasgow accent said that he supports the English national team!! I couldnae really understand that. Was that just one bloke or do Rangers supporters in general follow England? Also, I've seen Scots players wanting to play for Ireland ahead of their own Country. That perplexes me too. Not having a go at anyone lads, I'm just genuinely confused. Why don't both Rangers and Celtic Glasgow boys support their own Country instead of someone else's?
Swordshoopsters, obviously I cannot speak for everyone but I think some of the Scottish born players and fans opting for the R O I may well have to do with the Fact that traditionally Celtic players were rarely picked by Scotland. The world great wee Jimmy was capped only 23 times. All Lisbon Lions were under selected. After An Ibrox disaster when 66 people were killed Rangers/Celtic selected freely gave up their time to raise funds for the families, when Celtic player was sent out to warm up He was met by a chorus of abuse, he ran on down the tunnel into dressing room and Refused to play. Their was a service in Glasgow and both teams etc attended. Wee Jimmy stayed to the very end consoling every family member. A couple weeks later Scotland were playing and wee Jimmy was booed and heckled from start to finish. Maybe that will give you some idea why some Celtic fans and players will play for the country of parent or grandparent.
He neglects to tell you that even Big Jock Stein didn't pick Jinky when he was Scotland boss in the 60's. Turns out the wee 'fella was just ****e.
I take it one step further and tell you that he supports Liverpool and his username is similar to " a dagger constructed of dope"
Anyone that supports England, Scotland, Walers or Ireland is either a lesbo or a spazzy, most probably both in fact.
When jock was in charge of Scotland he rested some players because he wanted them to Be in top form when he needed them. Jock didn't like to have to listen to the animalistic Roars from the bears who were so bigoted that they roared abuse at their own players Times haven't changed you know in Christian. Scotland , the newest club have to warn some of their players not to make the Christian sign of the cross. Fellow football supporters I am sure you agree this is a terrible state of affairs, surely in the 20th and 21st century tHat Christians cannot play football together and against each other. Things are even Worse when a brand new club still has problems with their fellow Christians.
