Johnno has stuck his neck out for his friend and is telling the truth. He was there at close quarters when it happened and told it like it is. Expect a counter argument from MUFC very soon.
Do we really need to bring this up again? Just when we were finally moving on Edit: Yes, what he's saying is great and all, but it should have been said by Johno weeks ago, not now to kick the dust up again. Bad idea imo
Maybe at the time the hacks wanted our blood more than they wanted the truth and now hes taken the advantage to put the record straight, but i thought the dust had well and truly been settled on it like you JJ. Whether there's a backlash from the club or the other end of the East Lancs Rd we'll have to wait and see
He got asked questions about the incident and he gave his point of view, what is wrong with that I don't see anything coming out of this TBH
Quite agree. It does state in the article his responces were in answer to questions and his own opinion of situations. He has not gone out of his way to stir up trouble.
Absolute bollocks. There is a thread on it on the United board so I will keep my opinion on this to that thread but needless to say I strongly disagree with his timing and more importantly what he has said.
Whoever is in charge of PR at Liverpool is doing a dreadful job. This has been a disaster for the reputation and "brand" of the club. The owners clearly wanted it buried and forgotten so they won't be happy that Johnson has dragged it up again. Suarez apologised for refusing to shake Evra's hand, that should have been the end of the matter. Johnson's agent has also advised him very badly. All round an embarrassment for Liverpool and Johnson.
If you disagree **** off and do it on your own board, can't be that busy over at the **** again! Well said Johno, manc fans can't stand the fact that someone close to the event has spoken about how it was.
I'll post where I want you prick Or do you want us all to hold hand and nod in agreement you ****ing retard
Listen PrincessDerek, you are wrong and you're also ****ing boring now! Do us a favour and go and play with the other children and leave us grown ups to the mature stuff
Funny how you tell people to go post on their own board then nip promptly over to the United board to give us your opnion. You going to take your ball home next ? I will gladly talk football matters or banter with most Liverpool fans on here but you seemingly can't do that. I won't ruin your thread so carry on.
You don't talk or banter, you talk drivel and never listen to alternative sides of a story - 25 years of listening to Slur Alehouse has done that to ya! As for posting on the Utd thread, yeah I sure did, becasue once again you were talking bollocks! What was it you said "Why does he have to keep bringing this up?" to which my response was "He didn't, he was asked for his opinion on the matter and gave it!"
Not going to get into a masive discussion about this because I am glad it finally seems to be behind us but, even though I agree the Evra didn't really want to shake hands, if Suarez wanted to make a point he could have stuck him hand out and made it clear that it was Evra not wanting to shake. the fact that suarez went straight passed gave Evra the opportunity to make an issue out of it which he clearly grabbed with both (well, one hand but you know what I mean) hands! I admire Glen Johnson sticking up for his team mate but I think he has been a bit silly to make these comments (I realise it was probably instigated by a reporter), especially so long after the incident happened. No one is going to change the media or public stance on this, we just need to move on.
FFS why are we reviving this awful episode again? As a longstanding fan I was embarrassed by Suarez. Can we just move on now?
Not only do I think that he was silly talking about it again, but I just rewatched it and Glen Johnson was about 6 players in front of Suarez, so it all happened behind him and he wouldn't have seen a thing Anyway let's forget about it now.
