Well that was a weird first half.

Burton are playing all the football, we have had the best chances. Getting to half time a goal in front will hopefully give the lads the confidence to come out and play well in the second half.

    Get in!!!

Judge scores. The ball just about crossed the line. Could've been a penalty on Jackson.

Is this the beginning of a revival? I mean 4 goals, from our forwards?

Bishop has got into the game straight away. He is good with the ball at his feet!

Sears was selfish, should've passed to Jackson and took the shot instead.

What a relief, more like old selves. Lets start a good run with renewed confidence.

This a good win and performance against a side that can play football. As I said before the match, we benefitted by the fact they attempted to make a game of it, rather than sit back. But we had creativity in that team - Downes, Nolan, and particularly Judge impressed in the middle. Garbutt and Edwards returning at wing backs provided the much-needed balance. Hopefully we can go on a bit of a run now.

    Decent game today.
We missed a few easy chances but scored 4 anyway in a game that might have seen us collapse after losing a goal right after spurning a good opportunity. The first half saw Burton play some good football and us waste some great chances to score. We did manage to get 2 goals though that gave us confidence to come out in the second half and apply more pressure on Burton.

The second half was fairly dominant from us. We had plenty of good attacking moves and it felt like we would score with most of our attacks.

Holy - I'm happier with Holy in goal. His kicking is better than Norris', I think he could probably claim an assist on Jackson's route one goal.
Earl - played well. He is comfortable with the ball, carries it well and helps out in attack. A similar player to Woolfenden, I thought he did well with Garbutt down the left.
Chambers - good game from the skipper. Did a superb job being solid in the middle, his range of passing is better than Wilson's which adds something to the way we start attacks.
Woolfenden - nothing spectacular from Luke, he put in a decent performance and the back line was balanced with a left footer on the left, right footer on the right.
Garbutt - great to have Luke back, he played really well today.
Downes - another 8/10 match for Flynn. He is our first choice central midfielder.
Nolan - not sure what to say about Nolan. He was playing but I can't really remember him doing much.
Edwards - poor defensively in the first half he was slightly better as a full back in the second half where his defensive duties were easier to manage.
Judge - one of Alan's better games today. He was constantly involved and made some good passes to create chances. Scored two goals and his confidence will be high now. More of the same in the next match please.
Keane - is operating as a second striker. Tends to start from deep, he picks the ball up and then carries it forward. He's not really leading the line or going up against the CB's but he is effective and contributed well today.
Jackson - caused problems for Burton all day. With plenty of runs in behind, Kayden pulled the defenders all over the place and lead the line well. He should have scored 4 goals today. He missed a couple of one on one chances but still came away with 2 goals and a win for his outstanding effort.

All in all I'm glad we won the match convincingly. We easily could have crumbled after losing a goal straight after missing a chance ourselves. We missed some opportunities that early in the game had you thinking it was going to be one of those days. We kept on it though, played some decent, positive football and ended up with a great result.

The obvious key to this victory was me not paying attention.

Though I assume Skuse not being in a winning line also can't be coincidental. We remain outside the playoffs but seeing as we dropped from 1st to 8th within 2 weeks a good run will put us back firmly in the mix. Cue a boring 1-0 defeat next time out.

Poor Skusey, he tends to take the rub when we underperform, but he is one of those we can probably benchmark for coming on and fighting defensively in very tight games.

A strange game, the score line slightly flattered us,but we could have had more, after spurning two or three good chances in the first half.Garbutt makes such a big difference and looks like he’ll form a good partnership with Earl.

Just watched the highlights. Noticeable that all of our goals were unconventional, the easier chances we passed up. Still, was nice to see some coherent passages of play from defence to attack.
