My wife’s school use it too. Croft SEN school in Stanley. Kids “know” about it and the points they get but probably don’t know the ins and outs (nor do I!!)
I used to get that "See me" thing as well! Bassas, they used to put it there on Friday, so you'd be wondering what was going to happen on Monday. Usually a bollocking in my case.
The headmaster at JFK could be all jolly but would turn at the slightest thing. In assembly I saw both the slipper and cane dished out. Didnt look pleasant.
This is right about whacking people indiscriminately mind. "You boy, explain the difference between a tangent and a hypotenuse" "I'm not sure sir" "Well then, I've got a piece of wood here. I'll come there and whack you with it, and then you'll understand" Useless feckers. If they had been better, or even proper teachers, they would not have needed weapons to try and impart knowledge. Only had one like that mind. I honestly think he was on the edge of sanity, exploding with rage at the movement of a cloud. Bloody nutter!
I had one like that in middle school, he had a size 13 plimsole and wielded it like a Viking on a rape and pillage raid, he was a sadistic bastard and would have been arrested many times over by todays standard, brutal bully is the only way to describe him, my arse is having palpitations just writing this.
Had a whole school full of them , carried ones handprint on my face for days. It was a badge of honour. .
We had a Basher Burns, a Killer Kelly that used a cane and or plimsoll. Then there was one nutter who used to let fly with the blackboard wooden duster. God kids these days don't know they are born!
