Don't know What they are like now as I have not lived back up home for years. Mick dundee's on chants ave was ok and always busy. Golden fry in town was ok but dear. Some chippy down anlaby road near the griffin did good jumbo haddocks at kicking out time. Viking chippy it may have been. Better than the one in brough at the time.
Yeah I was late to the party Castro, definitely the best chippy that I've sampled in these parts. Hobson's which was very close to Blundell Park in Cleethorpes used to be fantastic when I used to work across there, but that was over twenty years ago so it's probably a kebab shop now!
but Cod though , i know both cod and haddock contain the wormy shizz haddock to a slightly lesser degree but im just not keen on cod , i find it too strong and the flakes not as good
Me too Its pointless going to the chippys near us. Although had some good stuff at Borough market Fish restaurant but expensive and they thought it was hilarious when my mate wanted a cup of tea with his. Oh for the days of Gainsboro.

What's the point of curry sauce? It tastes nothing like curry and its bright orange. It's just sauce.
I've had it before, I just don't get the appeal. That's not what curry tastes like, so why is it called curry sauce?
Atlantis 1 and Anlaby high rd has undergone some big improvements since i last went there , by that i mean the quality of the chips and how the scraps are , ive yet to buy their fish as i stopped going a cpl of yrs ago after it went downhill ,(ive only been this week as i needed something quick while workmen are in the house )its good that ive now 3 real good chippies within a 10 min walk
A bit after the fact, we had walleye (often misnamed pickerel) fresh from the frozen Lac LaRonge in northern Saskatchewan. One of the best tasting fresh water fish.
Never go Good Friday - line-up round the block, busiest day of the year. Usually go night before for a few pints of Tetleys. Home from home... http://www.oldeyorkefishandchips.com/gallery/ http://www.yellowpages.ca/bio/Ontario/East-York/Olde-York-Fish-Chips/7713502.html I collect mates who own chippies.
