Off Topic Good Friday Fish n Chips

You didn't go into Stanton café on the fish dock by any chance? It was a well know saying when ordering corned beef, can I have corned dog chips and beans. It only changed when there was a typhoid outbreak caused by Corned beef from Brazil, that it changed to Typhoid, chips and beans.

 

I used to use Stantons regularly. Do you remember the 2 young lasses that worked in the kitchen at the back...I think they were called Sam and Ella.

 

Any thoughts on Scarborough, sit down or takeaway?

 

I went around Feb time and randomly went to Winking Willy’s takeaway and it was one of the best F&C I’ve ever had. **** all over the famous ones in Whitby.

 

Was a F&C menu a surprise when you got in the shop?

Edit - ahh you’re making out it was some kind of gay bondage shop, in account of the name. I (eventually) see what you did there.

At this point I usually start moaning about you luck twats getting fish and chips on GF.

However, I found out yesterday that there is a authentic f&c van (food truck as they now must be called) doing the rounds in Stockholm. It's getting rave reviews from other expats.

I know where it is tomorrow so I will be having a large Cod and chips with mushy peas and a battered sausage on the side.

They even do curry sauce so I might go mad and see if I should change my vote on the other thread.

One more sleep until deep fried heaven.

 

I wondered when curry sauce would rear it's ugly head. It's an abomination on fish and chips.

Too bad you have to put up with cod and not God's own fish (Haddock). The king of the oceans.

 

As a child my Dad always taught me Haddock was the supreme fish and Cod was not even good enough for the cat. Didn't get it until I got older and my tastes developed, but how right he was!
