He barely played at all for Real last season and had about 90 minutes after February in total. Had a couple of injuries since coming back on loan and has only been sparingly used, due to his inability to track back adequately. Came on against West Ham when it was 3-0 and Mourinho doesn't want to risk that happening again.
Stupid was awarding Dier, Toby and Lamela new contracts despite them doing nothing to deserve them. And i'm glad talk of a new contract for Aurier after his 8 good games has died down. Signing Bale was just what we as fans needed after a thoroughly miserable year last year. It was the feel-good factor and while I don't think he'll ever be of much use save for cup games and late cameos, it must be huge having someone like him on the training ground. Similar sentiment behind the Joe Hart deal- I see the value of his contribution off the pitch as far outweighing his contribution on it. It's been a while since we had players like that. Last time was probably when Cudicini, Gallas and Van Der Vaart were in the squad together. The football we played that year was joyful. We just didn't have the squad strength for the long haul. Also Harry got distracted and Chelsea screwed us over.
Arsenal have signed Brighton's 4th choice keeper because the bloke they replaced Martinez with in the summer is ****. Matt Ryan's got a worse save percentage than Kepa and he's hit the classic on twatter, too: Must've forgotten about this when he came over for a trial with us. Perhaps the rejection sent him to the dark side when he returned to Rooville?
Congratulations on deposing Piskie. Bottled it after the loss today, I see. Anyone who wants to become a mod on the Goon board can apply on the relevant thread, by the way.
Never mind, I read the rest of that thread! Anyway, I’ll try not to be too dictatorial with my new powers...
It looks like we’re just trying to grab revenue wherever we can, which is a bit pathetic and desperate tbh. Not the first time in recent years that I’ve not been proud of the club.
Pretty silly post about Aubameyang, too: It's clearly something personal that didn't need to be addressed publicly at the moment. Just encouraging speculation and they know that all kinds of **** will be posted about it now.
I don’t think they meant for it to come across that way, but yeah, not great. It’s inviting attention to a situation that requires sensitivity and patience.
What is the actual issue with Auba? Anyone know? Usually there's rumours or whispers on social media somewhere, can't say I've seen anything, though I've not exactly looked much either.
Was just coming here to ask the same question. Personal problems usually involve a woman. In my experience. John Terry is not on the coaching staff is he?
"Auba is having a difficult time and we are all behind him. This win was for him." - Arteta. Could be a family health issue or his missus could've screwed him over. Doesn't tell us anything, really. Judging by the way that he left the squad and went home on the weekend though, I'd lean towards the former. Hope I'm wrong, though.
