I really think Max was controlling the gap and had it all very much under control early on. Merc just aren't quite there yet.

Well I think the first stint he did keep the gap but didn't extend so got the tyres quite deep into the race but merc could keep that gap and red bull asked him to try break the tow.

The hards were never ever right tyre today, nobody ran them for a good reason there was no need and mercs lost time hand over fist.

In the end once verstappen stay ahead at the start it was all over

I think Merc should have split their strat. George on Mediums and Lewis on softs to start. That way what ever tyre Max used one of the Mercs could match him and the other was on an alternative strat.

He was probably 5 laps past where the strat probably expected those tires to be, he'd said they were going but possibly just graining, and the team knew they had the pace to beat Merc. It was never close.

They had the pace on the mediums compared to the the Merc’s that’s for sure.

RBR have a great car atm, and Max is at the peak of his powers. With a comparable car, Hamilton would have had a shot, but they're just not quite there.

It has got got the point now that I only watch F1 bro see if Max makes a mistake or blows his engine up

How many more times must we endure Horner telling Max he had a great race when the truth is the Mere and Ferrari cars have not been fast enough to make a race of it

If RBR just run away with it next year I might just give up on F1 for good

It's just the usual cycle that we're stuck in. RBR will dominate for a while, then it will shift to another team and we'll be equally bored.

We still need to reduced the aero from wings, make sure the budget caps are enforced and for gods sake, reduced the number or races.

Oh no,don`t give up on Formula 1. Red Bull can`t stay in a dominating position forever. As sgt says, its just the ever changing cycles.Mercedes may have a world beating car next year and Lewis will get his 8th.championship.

Not sure I agree with this analysis of the race, Merc and RedBull (Perez) we’re pretty well matched. Had the Mercs gone long on mediums and then soft at the end, they would both have beaten Perez. The difference yesterday was Max - it wasn’t exciting but it was a masterclass.

Got to agree, that was a true champions drive yesterday by Max, hate to say it but he's really stepped it up this season. Scary as he's only 25.

We've just come out of the biggest and longest dominance from one manufactor in F1, it was so boring so I really hope we don't just fall into another.

All we can hope is that next season is a bit closer. Bit of a let down given how close last season was and the promise we were sold for this new era.

I think the 1st year was always going to be a tricky one as some teams clearly got things right and others didn't.
The budget caps also played a big part in the bigger teams being unable to spend their way out of bad designs.

I am hoping that next year they will be much closer and we might even get a 3 way fight!

That all depends if Ferrari can get the clown shoes off over winter.

Probably worth putting in context here that Red Bull have only dominant since Hungary, 3 months. Before that Ferrari seemed to have the better car and would have been leading the championship without the clown show.

Compared to the 7 straight years of Mercedes winning 90% of races, it's not much to complain about.

It's not just RBR though is it... It's all the years combined that have been dominant before it. We were getting to a point where gaps were finally closing, and now we could be a year or two away from really seeing that gap close again.

It's a general gripe, not aimed at RBR.
