I have learnt over the years as a Saints fan that good omens rarely come true for us. A player who never scores does so, a third choice goalkeeper plays a blinder, and a ruddy awful team at the bottom of the league scores two (not that I'm bitter<laugh>).

Thanks PL, but I'm sure if he was an Ipswich fan he wouldn't be able to referee Norwich!

If he was only ever going to support Real then why did let United's goal stand when RVP was clearly offside and why didn't he send Rafael off and give Madrid a penalty for saving the ball on the line??

RVP played no part whasoever in the goal! Giggs crossed it in, it was missed, then Nani crossed it in, it hit Welbeck, and then Sergio Ramos knocked it in. Where was RVP mate?!

And when the hell did the second thing happen, with Rafael punching if off the line?!

Just before Giggs crossed the ball in, RVP had a shot which was saved...and he was at least a yard off when this happened. How did you not see Rafael put his hand up to block Higuain's header on the line!?

Ha, anyone who thinks Clattenburg might be of an East Anglian persuasion has not heard him speak before. Ho'way the lads!

Perhaps- but you have a guy from norway supporting portsmouth, so maybe the rumours that Mark's an Ipswich fan is true! :)

Yard???? Specsavers mate. If anything he was an inch or 2 closer to goal than the defender and that is most definitely not daylight!!!.

The rafael handball was an upper arm he couldn't have reacted to in time and it doesn't matter whether it stops a goal or not. The letter of the law (as detailed fully be referees from the rule book) is was the arm in an un-natural position. It wasn't so no hand ball. You also forgot to add the blatent obstruction/foul in the last 5 minutes by Real where their defender went for the man and not the ball in the box.

TBH after United scored Ronaldo tried a few dives which the ref waved play on to.

Either way I think the ref was pretty fair to both teams apart from the sending off which IMO should have been a yellow at most. Can't stand Nani but for once I felt sorry for him.

No conspiracy theory in my eyes, just the usual poor continental ref.

PL is not old enough to go to spec savers on his own, and for some reason he seems to thinks he is funny as he models himself on his hero singing blue3.

Do I? I guess you can have you're own opinion ..

I think I agree with ImpsSaint- it was the usual poor continental referee :)

Clotenburg is like most refs, a ****ing jobsworth.Thinks he's the star of the show, even had a hair weave, the baldy tw@t.

As for last night, the problem is that Europeans don't understand the game, nana deserved a sending off for rolling around like a fairy, but the ref didn't help matters by constantly blowing for free kicks and throwing yellow cards about. In the good old days you had to commit gbh to get a booking, and the game was better for it.
