we were abysmal today. Very , very bad and we were very lucky to come away with 3 points today. I think if we'd played against a side with one good finisher we might have been spanked again just like we were against Fulham.

Again we insisted on playing the high line and again the opposition managed to break through it countless times with relative ease. Coloccini was magnificent though intercepting any ball that did manage to split our defence and failing that good ol' Krul was in fine form as well.

From midfield to up front it was a pretty lethargic display. Shola and Best easily the worst strike force to play in the division. Ben Arfa constantly overrunning the ball in the first half was then substituted by Perch. This was a "what the ****" moment.

However it proved to be a very smart one as Perch did everything Pardew asked him to do and was one of our best players in the second half.

HOWEVER here comes the good part , we've proven we can win ugly and when we least deserve it and that needs character and team spirit and that was there in abundance today. Excellent to see Obertan score that late goal , will do his confidence a world of good.

Wouldn't be too worried about today's performance though (just the high line that still worries me) because we've got a lot of players missing so we're going through a batch of game where we're playing with a bare thin squad. We were missing 5 players who normally walk into our first XI (Tiote , Cabaye , Saylor , Ba and Cisse).

Confident we can beat Villa this weekend now with the Senegalese boys back.

Howay the lads and sorry for sounding so negative after a victory but I said what needed to be said!

Agree with all of this. If we can win ugly (and very ugly at that!) it can only be a good sign.

Lets just hope Cisse and Ba can get us back into good form.

Put up on facebook 'been a robbery at Ewood, our worst performance of the season and probably Blackburn's best.'

We haven't been able to win ugly before though! It's these games we need to be winning!

Blackburn were awful and have had much better games, beating Fulham, with ten men the whole game, beating Man U away...

Merson said we'd get beat tonight.................. <laugh>

Just think... If we win on Sunday and Chelsea lose we could go level on 4th <party>

1 thing though; Am i the only person who is getting irritated by the media, with them not taking us serious still? They seem to forget that we have: Cisse, Ba, Tiote and Cabaye to come back into the team. Four players that will strengthen our team and enhance our chances of pushing for european qualification. I almost feel like they can't accept that we're actually doing well and competing with Arsenal and Liverpool.

We havent been able to play badly and win for years, its good to see us keep bouncing back after losses and only just winning games.

We only just beat wigan and qpr and weve had more luck than misfortune for a change, the 1-1 at old trafford springs to mind.

An awful 3 points was ugly to watch. But it's infinitely better than a beautiful 0 points or 1 point , especially an away game! So agreed
