Felixstowe & Walton United 1 - 0 Bury Town Isthmian League North ... Part 2 Attendance: 513 Admission: £3 (concession) Badge: £3 Programme - none (just a team sheet) Beer: unknown Once again some cracking pics there Elfs
again dear leader. Felixstowe were desperate for a win to maintain a play-off spot(they ended up in the play-offs but lost in the final). A cracking little ground enjoyed in lovely weather. I saw the old Ipswich chairman Sheepshanks there, it turns out he turns up a lot but does not help out in any way financially. A shame as a very moderate amount could go an extremely long way at Isthmian level.
Date: 1st May (I think) Farnborough Old Boys Guild FC 2 - 3 Ten Em Bee FC Kent County League Admission: free Coffee: £1 Badge: none Attendance: 25 Looks like it was a nice day and a pleasant setting for a match. According to Elfs this is really deep into the grass-roots non-league. Promotion from this Division takes a team into the Kent Premier League. Ten Em Bee dominated the game, but the quality of football was not up to much. That has got to be one of the smallest named stands I've ever seen... I had a quick look at the Farnborough OBG website - they are second bottom of the league right now. Fair play to them though, they have FIVE teams (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and Sunday) COMING SOON: An International Travels post! Clue as to location is in the colours, but no it isn't Ukraine. Got the pictures off my phone so it won't be a long wait this time...
Once again many to our beloved leader. This place is 10 minutes from me so an easy one to do. The game was entertaining enough but the standard was not great. The first touch was shocking, trapping bags of cement would have been difficult!
INTERNATIONAL TRAVELS - Sweden ... 9th May 2022 IF Elfsborg 0 - 0 Djurgårdens IF Boras Arena, Allsvenskan (top tier Swedish League) Admission: £16 Idol: Matt Svensson - (Charlton Athletic 2000-03, Elfsborg 2005-08) met before game Programme: none! Replica shirt: £35 Trivia Question: Which Charlton player of the early 1950's played for Djurgårdens when ex-Addick Dai Astley was manager there?
Blimey leader, that is one hell of a question, pass. Matt is a God in the city, a local boy come good. When I came out of hospital my mates contacted him and he gave them one of his Charlton tops to send over. A really nice bloke, he even made me a cup of cofffee
Replace beer for buying an Elfsborg top. I could not buy beerinside as I did not have an app to purchase food and drink. Fortunately my friends did
Ah, now I understand I got the wrong end of the stick and assumed 'Elfsborg Top' was a lager brew I was in admiration of you knocking back 35 quids worth...
If any other fans wish to embarrass Elfs with the correct answer to my trivia question, please feel free to post it. Big Clue: He was Charlton's first ever Swedish player. Only the second Swedish player ever to come to the English league.
Yes it did! _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ s o n Season 1950-51, scored 9 goals from just 11 starts. Scored a hat-trick when Charlton beat Arsenal 2-5 at Highbury. Was carried aloft by fans after his last Charlton appearance.
