I would say older, maybe 80.

I had never seen him before.

He lived in West Sussex. Poor old boy had a race to make the last train back from Victoria, we didn’t pull into Kings Cross til 10pm. I love real supporters and football enthusiasts like this. People who love the club and get off their fat arses. Compare him to most of the regulars on ITTV, who have posted a full match summary from behind their keyboards a minute after full time every week.

Reams, BB, Seriously, Mundell etc. Never go to the games.

    Are you sure of that?

I don't mind at all if you enjoy having a jolly pop at other Charlton fans for their genuine failings - though I'm not sure what Reams is supposed to do, he lives well over a hundred miles away.
But do you really believe Bexleyboy (for instance) doesn't go to matches?
I'm not saying I'm certain he does, or the others you named for that matter. But I would assume they do unless I knew otherwise for sure.

Just mentioning it because I think it's a serious thing to pin on fellow supporters, even ones you don't share views with, without being sure it's true.

Apologies - I thought you meant they never go to any games (not just away games).
I wasn't paying enough attention to the context of the thread.

Some fans just can't get to away games, for many reasons. In my case it's usually family commitments.
I admire fans who can get to away fixtures, I wish I could join you more often.
But don't think too harshly of supporters who mostly only turn up at the Valley. Most of us do the best we can.

I’m referring to the fans on both forums (not our one) who rush to their keyboards at 4.50pm every Saturday, and post a detailed slagging off of the manager and the players without having been anywhere near the game.

@Royston Vasey would only go to the London games if he did not have an expenses account.

It's all a question of what your priorities are in life. Takes all types etc etc.

1.5 miles down the road tottenham were playing, I ended up here!

Today was very cold but at least with a 3G pitch I was assured of a game in this rather drab athletics stadium.

At least the 25'ish were able to witness a very easy 6-0 away win to New Salamis, it could easily have been 10.

Disposable income. The trip to Boro cost £300. Not everyone can afford it.
