Following on from recent comments on another thread I have taken up the axe of rock & roll and created this in homage to the wizards of the 6 string.

I have many guitar heroes but for me top of the shop goes to Mr James Marshall Hendrix. Jimi nicked a bit from here, a bit from there, stuck it all together and changed the course of music. There have been more technically proficient players before and since but for me Jimi Hendrix remains the ultimate guitar icon.

    Hendrix was ****.

He just played any old ****e that came into his drug addled brain and the brain dead junkies in the audience lapped it up because they were so ****ing stoned they had no idea what ****ing planet they were on, let alone what the **** they were listening to.

That is one opinion of course but other guitarists still revere Hendrix for his natural ability and undoubtedly making the guitar sexy. Before he came along you had players like Gerry Marsden (of the Pacemakers) or George Harrison (from your favourite boy band) who gently plucked at a big hollow body guitar tucked up under their chin. Hendrix pretty much said "this is my big dick, look at all the tricks it can do" and used it like a phallic symbol.

The story goes that The Beatles went to see the Experience and were blown away, Lennon apparently turned to Harrison and said why can't you play like that? Ouch.

    Do tell, please.

I did a poop in Robbie Williams' downstairs bog. He had his Brit awards lined up on a shelf. True story.

A relatively well known scotch band were having their album produced by Mark knobfeeler, they had some of his guitars during this, not uncommon for producers to do - I had one of them ( a horrific Schecter thing ) for a while, so I pished on it before returning it because I hate dire straits and everything they stand for.
And I’m normally quite a mild mannered chap.

Yet another of my favourite songs that.

Along with "Walk Out To Winter".

    Sublime classics.

That's twice now I've said "sublime", well three times now actually. It's a beautiful word don't you think. It rolls off the tongue, much like my boyfriend's cock in fact.

Eric Clapton was once asked something like "What's it like to be the best guitarist in the world?" and replied "Ask Prince".

Hendrix was absolutely out there in a class of his own. No one else comes within a hundred miles of him. Guitarists in general are egotistical ****ers who need to dial it down a several notches and let the rest of the band be heard.

Jimmy Page was a class act though.

And a word has to be put in for Wilco Johnson, as an innovator and stylist.
