Saw John Martyn at Glastonbury, around 78 or 79. He was having a bad night unfortunately - he had a lot of those - but I’d love to have seen him on a good night, because he certainly had those too.
Unfortunately the drugs and drink didn't do him any favours, however on a good night he was incredible.
A bit before my time, but Terry Kath deserves a mention. Jazz-rock at its finest. And what a way to go - the silly bugger.
Glen Campbell was one of the greatest guitarists ever. He played session for everybody of any note in the 60s and 70s.
We had a holiday in Cornwall staying at a guesthouse where the son had been relegated to sleeping in a caravan for the summer. I remember hearing him singing that badly whilst inside that caravan. Him not me. Stayed in my head forever.
